Hey, does anyone know of a good rechargeable headlamp with a long battery life and short charge time? There are some rechargeable options here, but you can’t tell how long the battery life is on some of them.
At 260LM and 3xAAA, it’s not going to be very long on high, but if you’re really worried about the last minutes, get something else, like AAs or even an 18650 HL.
AAAs aren’t known for lasting hours upon hours.
For instance, I have an older Fenix HL30, which uses two AAs and which has a max of only 200LM, but it’s fine for shorter durations and not cave exploring.

None of the headlamps on that list you linked is part of our ordinary conversations.
There are two types:
-
Integrated non-removable battery optimized for high lumen runtime, such as Nitecore NU32, and they have the advantage of being very light weight. None of the Nitecore are high CRI, a must for me.
-
Removable battery, often 18650. Lots of brands, inexpensive but good quality are Sofirn, Convoy.
I bought the Sofirn HS20. I like that it is not an right angle flashlight slid into a holder. If I were to order a right angle headlamp, it would probably be the Convoy H1 because I could choose the Nichia 519a emitter in it.
As to quick recharge, I don’t know. However, if you buy one with a removable 18650 battery, you can simply have a spare battery, so while the first battery is recharging, the second battery is inserted and your lamp works with 30 second downtime.
