The only thing I can add is that, having gifted both 1xAA twisties and clickies to people who don’t know much about lights, the clickies seem more popular.
I'm a bit late to the game here, but my vote would be for the RC-G2. It's a great light for non-flashaholics, with great throw, which is how most non-flashaholics would judge a light. Nice light, good throw, single AA for alkaline users, reliable forward-clicky switch like most consumer lights.
It's a light that runs from a single AA, can easily drop into your pocket, but still outperforms a full-sized incan Mag...
I gave away my Shiningbeam RC G2, and am looking for a replacement for myself instead, so i can be more creative and find something that better suits my needs, and there have been some good suggestions in this thread but i have not decided on its replacement yet, though i am liking the same light in XPG2 so far
i’d like to upgrade my request to more lumens, modes don’t matter and 2AA or more is fine
$30 or less, i would like under $25 if realistic, i like lots and lots of lumens, runtime is inconsequential, but modes are nice if lumens are high
if its a hollow pill like the EA8 then no thanks, i seriously considered it until hearing about its shortcomings
i’m considering the costco 250 lumen specials, or a sipik sk-68, i’m not a fan of zoomies anymore and i like AA not AAA lights (i have lots of AA rechargeables and a smart charger)
