Recommend me waterproof way to connect two wires please

I’m not looking for butt connectors or any connector that cannot be disconnected with NO tools.

I’m also not looking for a connector that is just splash resistant (not good at enough for me) but preferably needs to be at least ip68 or ipx8 rated…metal or plastic is fine

I’ve found several ip68 connectors already but all of themr require a screwdriver to connect and disconnect

I’ve looked for days on the Internet I can’t seem to find what I’m looking for

Maybe one of you knows of something that I haven’t come across yet

I’m building my own headlamp with an external battery pack but I also want it to be able to be disconnected so I can hook up another battery pack when the first one goes out

Thanks

I cant say I fully understand what you want to do but Anderson power pole has all kinds of connectors including water resistant ones.

That

A headlamp with an external battery pack

But I want those connectors to be waterproof not just water resistant

Gel-filled cable joints?

Can be disconnected with no tools. Kinda meant to be semi-permanent though

What about a screwless waterproof junction box?

What kind of voltage and current range? You could take a look at industrial M8 and M12 connectors, those come in pretty rugged versions but they’re mostly meant for low voltage signalling.

There are plenty of (presumably) 2-position waterproof connectors, usually screw-together like for professional microphones, but you ain’t getting them on Amazon, and would be pricey af to order only 1-2 of them from suppliers.

A lot of booted connectors (think spark-plug wires) are “waterproof” to lying in puddles, but not going scuba-diving. Ie, they’ll keep out standing water, but not necessarily under any appreciable pressure.

I found these

I want the best money can buy

It says they offer a two pin version

But I hate websites where I can’t figure out how to buy the damn thing

There’s no buy button

My guess is they only take huge contracts like $20 million dollars

But I emailed them anyway

Waiting for a response

Suitable or not?https://www.amazon.com/NAOEVO-Waterproof-Automotive-Electrical-Connectors/dp/B0BB7G6HR7/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.jbfqC9Es09mXnVJkqGauygJZsfuDcVRFJqbRjJEWwmT4SReztW19SKJxnPvxLdPKtrCopuRf3p9zQkBXNF3wQslDqFOpeYRk6Afn-C2Tlbe_hyoIjhn8cpLEjknrO2tPjvHAF2oUWDFg84XLCI4b9bPBnyjFjNm7s1HaBSexFGdoWfZV2RGBJZD2aLi07vVnGHZqD-51NbXEJOp2i3RSYw.3xAHahyCmV5RyEVhiHlt7890RRp58H-MQqp9lQKRTK4&dib_tag=se&keywords=3%2Bpin%2Bwaterproof%2Bconnector&qid=1717883711&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfYXRm&psc=1&th=1

I found this in amazon

using clamp, however it doesnt show for how deep could it be used. Some similar product (using screws) mentioned about 5m deep. IP68 only.

I am not sure what the exact requirement is, but if you want really water proof, then go for Cellpack. These connect the wires in a simple plastic housing which after connecting is being filled with some water proof resin:

Not suitable for a bike headlamp use case I would say. This is really professionally stuff, for any serious under water application, and so on.

It appears the vast majority (all?) of caving lights have the connector inside the waterproof battery housing.

Cable glands seal the light to the battery box, with a continuous length of cable.

Perhaps it’s easier to copy this design than reinvent the wheel?

Edit to add: they’re not cave rated but Lupine lights are pretty serious bits of kit and appear to just use push connectors.

Perhaps similar and a dollop of dielectric grease would do?

I like using those. Filter for IP68.

+1 for Weipu, I like the snap-fit Mx style and the knockoff Lemo style.

Newark / DigiKey / Mouser

RS-online sells Weipu stuff rebranded to RS-pro, also a good way to get single digit amounts

Amazon sells the WEIPU connectors too.

I really like the fischer connectors. I don’t like those Chinese ones. But this project is turning out to be more expensive and time consuming than I imagined.

If I had a good friend that had a CNC machine and could do anodizing , this would not be that big of a deal.

I recently found another brand I’ve never heard of, just fyi for those of you who are like me and are looking for the same thing as me

I’m prob gonna go with that one or scurion

Thanks for all the suggestions though
