Recommendations for 5000+ lm, 700 m throw, multi-emitter, 60 mm head dia or less?

Hey all, I haven’t bought a handheld light in almost 5 years. Can anyone recommend me a light that meets these criteria:

  • 5000+ lm
  • 2000+ lm for a half-hour without stepping down and without burning my hand
  • 700+ m throw
  • not a dedicated thrower (I don’t want to have to paint the spot around as I walk), so preferably a multi-emitter
  • 60 mm head dia or less
  • off-the-shelf light, not a custom or mod
  • $150 or less

2000 lumen for half an hour is going to be an issue.

The Convoy M3C can do 1600 lumen till battery exhaustion but it won’t throw that far.

Multi Emitter AND 700m+ Throw AND 150$ or less?
Choose two!

You could try the Convoy M21K, maybe this “cheap” light can get close enough to your preference?
It is single Emitter but at least the LHP Version that I have is a nice combination of some throw with a two-staged spill, one around 2.5x as big as the hotspot, still quite bright, the rest outside of that like a normal flashlight.

Thanks Bort. My old Supbeam X60 could do it no problem but it had a huge head diameter.

That M3C looks decent. I’ll check out some reviews.

Thanks L4M4 I will take a look at that Convoy.

No. That’s not how physics work. Convoy 3x21A with SFT-40/42R may be close-ish to those numbers.

The huge head diameter is exactly the reason your Supbeam X60 can achieve this sort of performance without burning you.

Something pretty close to what you’re asking for does exist, and it’s from Supbeam, now known as Acebeam. See this review of the K30 GT. It misses your price target a bit, and it might burn your hand.

Hitting those numbers and definitely not burning your hand requires a cooling fan. There are some lights with cooling fans built in, but not with the exact traits you’re requesting.

Thanks Zak, I looked at that Acebeam a few years ago and thought it was the one, but I didn’t get it because I thought it might get too hot.

I was hoping that in the past 4-5 years, LED tech might have improved enough that newer, similar lights wouldn’t get too hot, but maybe that hasn’t happened yet.

For anyone who cares, I might get the Astrolux TM03. I just learned that after a half-hour on the maximum ramp level, it gets very warm but can still be handled without burning the hand.

It sustains about 2000 lumens which makes sense why it doesn’t get hot - it’s big.

Yep, big head diameter won’t fit in my pocket but big length is fine with me as long as it fits in my pocket, which the TM03 will.
