"Replaceable battery" mod for these common 18650 budget lanterns?

These lanterns are quite popular and very affordable (around $20-23/pair). They contain two 18650 batteries inside. Has anyone tried to mod them to make batteries removable?
I had these for 2 seasons with no issue and my family did not babied them. I also like the fact that with this price they can be considered as disposable so it’s safe to leave them unattended.
I like these lanterns, the are budget, quite rugged, have also flashlight functionality (that’s why Sofirn BLF lantern (expensive, doesn’t have functionality I need) and many other are not an option for me), very easy to operate (important for family). The only drawback is for long camping trips I would rather have spare batteries rather than look for a way to recharge those.
