Replacement for EDC AAAA flashlight

My current EDC flashlight is Klarus Mix5. It is no longer in production. And mine might just be ending the end of its lifespan as I have been having problems with it lately.

Is anything similar out there? That is powerful single AAAA battery flashlight? I can’t find any, so probably not. But I still have to ask just in case…

Why AAAA and not AAA or AA?

AAAA cells will be hard to find and only slightly smaller than AAA cells thay are very common.

Welcome to the forum Giovanni

there are many AAA lights available. Since you have an Italian name, maybe you are in Europe, so you could search your Amazon, or you could buy from Aliexpress…

this is one of the AAA lights I recommend

for your Klarus, if it is becoming unreliable, it might help to clean off all the old lubrication… sometimes it gets dirty and accumulates to block good electrical contact…

Not much else out there I’m afraid. Klarus seemed to be one of the only manufacturers making quality AAAA lights, these have been discontinued for some time.

Google suggests dimensions of the Mix5 are: 65.6mm (Length) x 9.2mm (Body) x 10.3mm(Head).

A single AAA cell is 10mm X 44mm so AAA lights are necessarily larger.

Parametrek is a good resource when looking for lights.

The maglite solitaire seems to be one of the smallest diameter AAA lights in the database, 81mm (length) X 12mm (diameter).

Edit to add: I thought about it some more, you could look at the Convoy AAA flashlight. Or maybe BLF-348 if you can find anywhere selling the generic light.

Thanks for signing up, titanif!

I had no idea anyone even made AAAA lights.

Where ya even get AAAA cells? Probably even more pricey than AAs, no?

Just goggled it… interesting.

1-piece body, thinking maybe a Boney or clone might be close, albeit bigger.

When I could never find AAAAs for my Laser Pointer, a colleague told me I could harvest 6x AAAAs from a 9V, which I did.

Oh, I know, but those were rare. Most were the little waxy stack o’ pancakes inside, though.

Think RayOVac was the last brand to use them.

AAAA cell’s are almost never used in flashlights, but are quite common in remote’s and doorbell’s.
AA and AAA are all over the world but casings take away a lot of the advantages in the smaller sizes, nominal sizes are:
AA = 14.5 x 50.5 mm (14500)
AAA = 10.5 x 44.5 mm (10440)
AAAA = 8.3 x 42.5 mm (none)

The AAAA light mentioned in the OP is the far right light in a review of well known member HKJ

The other lights are regular, mostly discontinued, AAA flashlights.
Maybe you get lucky and can find a D.Q.G Tiny AAA XP-E R2 or an Ultrafire UF-T1. Those are a bit thicker, but shorter.

Great picture.

Streamlight stylus?

Maratac pocket trooper is a great throwy 2 x AAA light
