Some of you guys probably read my review on the 12x that was 7,000 lumens and this light is very similar so I’m not going to get into it too much.

I bought a couple of these a while back when they first had them. They took their sweet time getting them to me and so far only one has shown up. They did a partial shipment with tracking on only the one. So I’m still waiting on the second one. I’m wondering if it will be the same or not.

This light is a 15x XML T6. It uses 4 26650’s. It makes the light very long but I like the extra battery.

They have it listed at 17,000 lumens on high. LOL It’s about 3,000 stock.

It’s the same grey finish and it’s not bad really the reflector is really nice. The big star that the emitters on isn’t too bad either. Fits in perfectly and everything was centered nicely. It had some thermal paste under it, but it’s the cheap stuff and they didn’t have it fully coated like usual. Even with only 3,000 it should have had a full coating.

Everything is pretty sturdy. The tailcap is nice.

Modded it’s a true beast. It’s the brightest light I have every modded. Insanely bright. The sense resistor on this thing is just a small one but it’s crazy high numbers. I can’t remember exactly what it was but it was something like 2344, Just unreal. Why they put that much resistance on it is beyond me.

Of course I bridged the resistor right away and put down a really good coat of thermal grease, the best stuff I have found so far. it’s called omegathermal 201 from omega engineering. Good stuff if you can find it.

At that point it was now at just over 8,000 lumens.

Then I shortened up the wires, they didn’t need to be so long and that also adds resistance. The centering rings are also light hogs, no reason to have such huge centering rings on this light. The springs top and bottom got a mod done next.

I also de-domed the three emitters in the center. They are the largest reflectors. This added some throw and took the whiteness down a notch so it’s around neutral/cool.

With four Sony Green high amp 26650’s I hit 9,000 lumens. Medium is over 5,000 lumens and that is just crazy bright. Honestly it’s not a huge jump to the 9,000 lumens just by looking. If I hadn’t gauged it I would have thought it was less. Probably because once you hit that 9,000 lumens the pupils in your eyes are tiny little dots. LOL

Well anyway, it’s a cool light but really only for modding. Well that or if you want an efficient light that can run on high for a very long time, with the 15 emitters and four batteries it’s not bad for that kind of thing. The beam is really nice too, It’s just a huge wall of light with zero rings. Super nice beam, that’s a big plus.

Cheers for that.

I would really like to know the thought process behind the guy whose job it is to decide how many lumens they will list it at. Or perhaps they have a little focus group discussion and debate how 15 000 would be under-selling it, 20 000 would be an exaggeration, and 17 000 seems about right. Clowns!!

These torches are getting a bit too big! Need to mount that to a turret or something.

15 emitters is just ridiculously awesome.

9k lm(divided between 15) isn’t that much per emitter, I wonder why they chose to limit it so much in stock form?

Yea it’s crazy how they rate their lumens. I think they have a monkey and a dartboard!!

It was just crazy. It was the highest number I have ever seen on a resistor. Now it makes me wonder what they are doing with all the other ones that come in this form?? I know people are reporting them being all over the place. I think I would be leery buying any of these models unless you know how to mod. Because who knows what kind of a sense resistor they are going to stick on there.

Maybe they did aware that the stock heatsinking is bad and the thermal grease was cheap, so they wanted to limit the current flow to achieve a better heat management? A “good intention”? :cowboy_hat_face:

But as for why they always want to exaggerate their lumens claim… no idea about this lol.

I like the output on the quick flashing.. Very impressive.

  • There are 5 modes (high-17000LM, medium-2800LM, low-600LM, slow flashing and quick flashing-350000LM) for your selection

All they are doing is selling “15 emitters” That gives them the “right” to call it 17,000 lumens.

The high value sense resistor insures that this light does the only 2 things they care about.

1. It lights up.
2. It doesn’t come back.

Well good old T-mart is messing with me big time on this one. They never sent the second light and then they went and changed the listing from 2pcs to one and are claiming I only paid for one light.

This is the listing when I bought it.

CREE T6 15LEDs 5 Modes Waterproof Flashlight Set Gray 2pcs CREE T6 15LEDs 5 Modes Waterproof Flashlight Set Gray

Now it’s changed to this.

CREE T6 15LEDs 5 Modes Waterproof Flashlight Set Gray

I’m sure that many of you remember this listing as being for 2 lights not one.

No more “2pcs” in the listing. I guess it’s good that they are not trying to sell it as a pair and only shipping one now but I can’t help but think that they changed the add to try and win the paypal case I filed against them.

They are flat out denying that I bought two lights right now. They swear up and down that I only paid for one light.

I’m pretty disappointed in Tmart. They don’t always have the best prices and their claims are inflated like most other sites but this is the first time I have been completely ripped off by them. This is the kind of garbage you would expect from a scam artist on e-bay but not from a well known site like them.

Well, it must be because you got the 350,000 lumen quick flashing mode so its a deal even getting one!

From that website link: “There are 5 modes (high-17000LM, medium-2800LM, low-600LM, slow flashing and quick flashing-350000LM) for your selection”

I’ve had them pretend they sent one item, then refund me after I filed a claim, and on another order they sent crappy quality stuff not as stated and I got a partial refund after filing a claim.

Good thing google cache exists http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:aeATX9Pu7hcJ:www.tmart.com/2pcs-CREE-T6-15LEDs-5-Modes-Waterproof-Flashlight-Set-Gray_p250042.html+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=au&client=firefox-a

Nice one aoeu.

Will no longer buy from Tmart. My last transaction composed of 2 DMMs I never received. They gave me fake tracking number which never showed up. Good thing PP refunded me the full amount.

That is sweet.

SNAP!

Very cool. Thanks! That should make dealing with PP easy enough.

Also take personal snapshot to submit to PP, in case google cache is gone. It was clear enough the original listing mentioned 2pcs on the title and 2xLED light on the description. PP should side with you.

About DMM shipment - it’s the same with me! Ordered 2 pcs DMM from Tmart on separate occasions, both never arrived. That’s so weird because everything else non-DMM from Tmart has no problem.

Nice catch.

Google Cache — do keep a screenshot of that! — says:

“… you should not miss our 2pcs CREE 15-LED T6 5-Mode Waterproof Flashlight Set. …
… Package Includes
2 x LED Bulb Flashlights …”

Yep. Flat out, Tmart is lying about what they offered for sale.

Tmart - buglers, robbers, and thieves

I was through with tmart after OL group buy when they sent hd2010 without 092 east driver and the replacement was even worse with a whinny driver and old XML emitter
