Thanks! Just bought myself a P100 half mask. I was gonna guy it for my work on Costco the other day and decided to wait. Now I regret it… the price on amazon was good. $17. But I have to wait 10 days and I have a work next week…. I am gonna ask a friend to see if he can lend me one.

The virus is carried on droplets of moisture expelled from the human body (sneezing, coughing). These droplets are large enough to be stopped by an n95 mask. Once the virus has gone airborne on its own, all bets are off. The virus can also survive outside of a host for as long as two weeks ( or longer), so don’t forget the rubber gloves, hand sanitizer and lysol.
Funny, I just came back from Home Depot. I do a fair amount of woodworking, and getting ready for a drywall project. Counter lady hassled me for buying too many dust masks. She said, “there’s a limit of 6”. I said, what, are people supposed to break open the factory sealed boxes of 20 so they can buy 6?.. I’d be happy to take my business to Lowes 1 mile down the road. Just ignored her, bought them and walked out. They literally had thousands of masks in packs of 3, 6, 20, and 100. No shortage what so ever.

Why does everyone wait until a hurricane to stock up on water, etc.?
Why does everyone wait until another Snowpocalypse is announced to stock up on salt, batteries, shovels, etc.?
Around here, any hint of bad weather gets announced, and stores are instantly cleaned out of bread, eggs, milk, water, etc. Perishables can, well, perish, if the power goes out.
But forget perishables, I mean ESPECIALLY things that last forever, like shovels and salt for snowstorms… why do people wait until the last possible second to “stock up”? Stores are mobbed, nothing’s left on the shelves anymore, and panicky people go into Cabbage Patch Doll mode to beat others to death for the last items on the shelves.
And unless the store sets a limit of how many per customer, the pickup-guy has every right to buy what he can pay for.
The real prepper would have 6 pallets of water long-since stored away and ready to use. The poser is the one who loads up his pickup at the last second.
Unless you get a real fat virus…

I have a forwarding address in Miami. Been purchasing from amazon and any other US store for decades. They’re simply out of stock (I’m talking about the disposable N95 not oil proof ones, not going to give away $20 respirators Along with expensive P100 filters)
2 weeks?? no. maybe in a lab in perfect conditions. otherwise a few hours at best. just like any other virus.
just checked online a few local lowes and home depots….all n95 masks show “limited stock” and check in store….LOL. people are stupid.
The transmission rate is happening VERY quickly in China. Pretty unsettling. Went from a few dozen to over 14,000 in just a week. 300 now dead. Thankfully this is not the H1N1 from 1918. That one was extremely contagious & it killed 50 million people… and that’s WITHOUT mass transportation across international borders.
Just keep on top of local outbreak news. If nothing local, you’re in the clear. I think I’m going to buy some masks once the initial fear blows over and stock returns. Just for future use. Because I’m expecting a worse virus will come around in the next 5 to 10 years.
