I’m trying to purchase a 10 or 40 pack of 3M N95/P100 respirator masks for family and friends just in case, and because I’m the only “prepping guy” amongst them.
However I can’t find a single listing on amazon or Home Depot that has them on stock?
I am right there with you. Everyone went into panic mode. I do have a few from a Bugout bag…but would like more as you. If I find anything, I’ll pm you.
They’re out of stock bc people are blindly freaking out…makes it tougher for medical professionals who actually need them. Take your vitamins and avoid sick people and you won’t need to hoard masks.

When I had a lung infection with some quite antibiotic resistant bacteria I had to wear one for almost 2 weeks in the station
they even didn’t allow me to go to the WC without a nurse clearing the floor and WC room from other patients
I’ve used these N95/P100 respirator masks for years. They have protected me from dust from my router, table saw, and sander for years. The problem is most people only look at immediate threat, but I’m looking at risks from saw dust 20-30 years down the road.

Save the masks for people and places that actually need them.

Little bit of background story before you guys keep on bashing what appears to be a laughable situation to you. Yes I know there is a very low probability that I or any of my family members actually dies because of the virus, and that statistically speaking we are most likely die while taking a dump or preparing an instant soup in the microwave. I drive a car with 2-star crash rating, maybe I should upgrade my car before worrying about wearing a mask since I’m much more likely to die from an accident? There are numbers behind that logic after all.
I live in Panama where as of now there is zero indication that any government or private entity has the slightest clue on how to proceed if an outbreak or a first infection were to happen. Our airport is considered a hub for the Americas with frequent international flights and hundreds of thousands of people come and go everyday. There is zero safety measure being taken in the customs or the flight transfer areas. There are no real respirator masks for sale and the government hasn’t issued any masks to those who work there. You come though such airport and see people from all over the world and you start to panic. However No mask for sale or to be issued.
I live in an apartment building in a zone where almost 50% is occupied by Chinese people, of course this is not a problem until you consider the following: it was estimated that about 1,500 Local Chinese citizens went back to China for the CNY holidays despite all the warnings that have been issued to avoid traveling to China. Many of them are returning now and as you can expect, zero safety filter or quarantine protocol when they come back through the airport.
Last week a friend of mine traveling along with 3 other Chinese people returned from Taiwan and all they did was ask her “were you in contact with someone infected with the corona virus?” She responded no, And the customs being just customs and not health department they just let her pass. What if she was indeed infected but wasn’t showing the symptoms? According to the news we are perfectly safe and there is no need to panic, although it is officially declared that we have zero virus test kit available in the whole country.
There are a group of scholarship students abroad in China who are trapped in there with their passports taken away by the Panamanian embassy itself, not because they can’t bring them back but they’re afraid that no one knows what to do if they come back infected. It is required by law that the embassy must bring back said students safely in case of a national emergency.
So far the only official instruction was that if you suspect you’re sick just go to the nearest hospital. This is utterly stupid because you will just infect every one on your way there. Instead you should stay home and let them quarantine you from where you are. But this level of ignorance is expected from a mediocre government.
There is however some peace of mind because I know for a fact that if the infection cases reaches here we will receive immediate help from either the US or China. The economy impact will be massive at a global level if the Panama Canal ceases operation even for one day, and the men up there wouldn’t want that to happen.
And basically that’s why I just want to have some N95 masks to give away. I do have a respirator with spare P100 filters for woodworking. I also find them really useful to avoid allergies when we are cleaning up dust from the floor. They can cost as much as $15 each locally that’s why I wanted to buy them online. I’m not hoarding a thousand respirators and 3 years worth of food, not everyone is an extremist. For some people if you give them a mask and a Can of Lysol it brings them peace of mind and won’t have to live in fear.

Apparently the best way to stop this from becoming a world wide epidemic is to force Chinese people to stay in China. We see that the mayority of infected non-Chinese were infected by Chinese tourists or visitors. So China actually does the right thing: though unintentionally.
So far “Chinatown” in The Hague is the only place in NL were people wear masks.

If nobody takes care of you, you have to take care of your own safety and health. 
That is the reason you’re not seeing them on amazon.com . They are filtered out of what you can see because most items don’t ship to Panama. If you actually go to a hardware store you will likely find n95 masks in stock. Higher level filters are likely available also. Maybe not the specific brand and model you want.

This reminds me of when a hurricane comes. Everybody is taking 1 or 2 cases of water and then you see the stupid wannabe prepper guy in his pickup truck taking 6 pallets of water and then nobody else can take them.
Dont be stupid!! You only need water for 3 days max! Do you think the entire US is going to collapse and there is not gonna be water for the rest of your life??
