This is similar to most generic budget LED floodlights. Aluminum box with a square-ish metal reflector and big LED. It has a handle for standing or mounting. The one perk of this one is that it is a bit slimmer than some of the other models out there.

Unlike some other budget ones, this floodlight had a ground wire properly installed to the case.

Power: N/A

I didn’t do any readings since my equipment is subpar for this application.

Light Output: ★★★☆☆

This puts out a nice, even flood. It lights up a room well. I did a couple quick shots for comparison. Outside, the toy house is about 25 feet away, the basketball hoop pole is about 40, and the top of the yellow slide on the playground is about 60. For the indoor shot, the far wall and window is about 20 feet away.

Sorry for the grainy shots. Control on left and floodlight on on right, in case it isn't obvious. I’ve read that these are over advertised, and a real bridgelux array at 20 W is way better. That being said, this still is a handy light to have around. I think this power level would be ideal for garage lighting while working on a project or specific smaller area lighting outdoors like a patio or porch.

Summary: ★★★☆☆

I am not sure how to rate this since I don’t have much to compare it too. I will give it 3/5. It is well made, but I would have preferred a more polished unit that was more plug-in-and-go friendly for consumers.

Interesting, is the emitter bonded or screwed to the housing?

4 philips screws and some gray thermal paste that works pretty well. The whole back warms up nicely with use.

Yeah, even without fins…the case becomes a HUGE thermal mass w/ tons of surface area for heat dissipation

Nice

I got one of those UV array LED’s to mount in my HVAC system’s intake tract to hopefully help sterilize the air (thats the thought anyway), I was looking for the best driver for it, seems like the best option may be to just use one of these.

Did you happen to read the vF the LED actually run’s at?

edit: Just noticed you got it from MyLED, I definitely wont be ordering from them again, I paid for 2 supfire A6’s, they sent two super cheap 2 bay 18650 chargers with EU plugs and never responded to my emails. I’m, waiting for my paypal claim to give me my money back. I definitely advice not buying from them.

I think by using Aeon Grow farming lights will give best results…

Have you checked the power absorption?
Mine, rated at 50W is 35W, so I guess 20W should be something between 7W and 15W (<— if you are lucky)
Those drivers are intentionally underestimated, at least with china stuff.
I took a month researching something that has been proven by others with real numbers but it always was something tested by US people and not available here.
There are good “manufacturers” (should I say ” importers”?) with realist claims but usually their products cost 3-5 times china stuff, so you end buying 3 flood light instead of one but at least you have a bit more light overall spending a bit less

Old thread!

I bought a couple of 10W super-cheap LED floodlights a while back… Measured 7W. Replaced the driver with an actual 10W driver and brightness increased significantly. One mounted on the back porch overseeing the smoker/grill illumination. Second is a portable that is either mounted over my worktable, or clamped wherever else I need extra light.

germicidal uv are uvc band 100-290nm, it will take many thousands of dollars for leds like that, definatly wont find cheap array that will be effective at sterilizing the air. get germicidal uv bulb way cheaper, like 10-20 bucks.
