Hmm, gave it a shot, so will see what happens, tnx!
I don’t know if alerts carried over from the old forum. You may have to make a comment in a thread to get new alerts.
That’d be great if I knew which threads I had subbed from before.
Does the Pokelit hold up to use and drops?
I imagine no more or less than other lights. Just a guess, i dont own one but it does not look any weaker or stronger than other lights.
The 1.5 meter drop test rating seems to be pretty standard across most CN budget flashlight manufacturers. I wouldn’t hazard a guess as to how accurate or reliable those claims are. Fact is, almost none of them have potted electronics, which from a shock standpoint would be crucial to operational longevity in cases of hard use or ‘abuse’. AFAIC, potted electronics in a tactical or WML is an absolute requirement. For casual EDC or non-critical deployment, individual use cases or requirements probably wouldn’t be as stringent. As Zoulas replied, the Pokelit is likely on par with other lights of its genre from a reliability standpoint (in reference to your question).
I try to not drop my lights, so thankfully my “testing” in that regard is minimal.
Thanks for the great review.
I got the copper version with the Nichia 519A which is indeed somewhat warmer than 6500.
I can’t find any memory mode in my light - anyone else?
My 2AA green one always resets to low (2 modes, L/H) after a short time, and if I’m not mistaken, the 1AA gray does have memory (3 modes, L/M/H).
Problem is that so many lights don’t “memorise” the current mode unless it’s been on in that same mode for N seconds, or is turned off in the current mode for N seconds. And N can be 5sec, 10sec, who knows, maybe even 30sec or 1min.
So I always try to just set the light to a particular mode, let it cook away for a minute or two, turn it off and don’t touch it for another minute or two, then turn it back on and see if it “stuck”.
My 2AA green Pokomon always starts in L (of L/H)
My Tacklife always starts in H (of H/M/L).
My Xeno E03 always starts in M (of M/L/H).
So who tf knows what default settings there might be for any given light, or how long it takes to “stick”, and whether kept on or kept off. Makes my head hurt…
How the tint looks like? I read about greenish tint. Is that true?
The 2AA light? Quite nice, actually. Just a few days ago I was charging some other lights, grabbed this to grubble around and bit, and yeah, it was quite nice.
Definitely green- I bought 2 thinking they were great right until I turned them on- Dont consider myself a tint snob but they were unacceptable to me and sold them cheap
?? This is the 2AA one with the loooooong Li cell, right? The one with the 519 under the hood, everyone’s Golden Child That Can Do No Wrong?
People get pissy with me for liking the '351 and keep extoling the 519, but man, I’ve never heard anyone critique the 519 before.
Tread title is Gray Pokelit - That is what I am referring to.
I scanned up a few messages and saw the 2AA mentioned, so figured that one.
I got the gray 1AA one, too, but forgot its beam. It seemed nice, and I didn’t grex about it, so I imagine I liked it, too.
Will have to dig it out and see…
