This light has a very aggressive thermal stepdown compared to the older V3 model which was loved for it’s impressive stabilization.
I have the V3 and V4 and honestly besides the improved switch and a bit brighter turbo the V4 is more of a downgrade, especially the price is too high for what it offers.
The old one got way too hot so the lower temperature is better. The new one also has a spring on the front end and a faster charger. All good changes.
Heat doesn’t really matter when it is on your head on mounted on an hard hat/helmet.
When I’m exploring abandoned mines the fast steptdown is really annoying.
The price also went up, so I guess Zebralight is the better alternative now.
