I’m getting used to the cranky ramping on this now. It’s an excellent thrower, better spill and a more useful size hotspot for dog walking, definitely more practical than it’s predecessor.
All beamshots are running turbo.
I’m glad you like it. Do you own the V1? I thinknthe host is nice and I actually like the V1 better. The ranping is more squared away (still not good), and it’s more of a thrower. Plus the outputs after the stepdown is so similar. Really you’re getting extra 1100 Lumens of output and less throw. Thr good thing is you can easily swap in any 26650 Astrolux/Mateminco driver so you can get Anduril.
Yes, I have the V1 too, impressive throw but too pencil beamy to be practical for me. Even the V2 doesn’t put a lot of light around me when I’m out with the dog but it’s a lot better. It’s like walking in the dark, but you can see what’s way ahead while tripping over a log right in front of you.
Last night I took a Wurkkos HD10 along with the V2 so that the area directly around me was illuminated.
The ramping is terrible on the V2, it’s been mentioned elsewhere but the light brightens slowly to begin with, and just when it’s coming up to a useful amount of light, suddenly leaps up really quickly so I repeatedly miss the sweet spot. That and having to double click to start backing down from high. Many times I have the button pressed waiting for the almost imperceptible ramping to start, and it doesn’t. It’s often easier to switch the light off and start again.
TBH, a stepped ramp would have been better, at least it’s easy to see what’s going on.
Yes! The usability would be benefitted greatly by stepped ramping. The ramping is really bad. It’s as bad as the Lumintop Rainbow. The Mateminco LT40, which replaced the Astrolux EA01S has a much better Anduril like ranping.
