[Review] Convoy M21H MAO flashlight - Convoy start to go upmarket!

E-switch UI, the Achilles’ heel of Convoy.

For me, the same. I won’t buy another e-switch Convoy until they address those UI behaviors. The clicky UI with mode memory off is good enough.

I share this same sentiment about no ramping up from moonlight. Is it possible to mod an m21f or H with a different driver? I imagine it gets tricky with the charging port and switch all wired together in a stack, but possible?

Yes please! I’ll put my name on that!

Except for lacking overheat protection. IMO flashlight should not be able to overheat and kill itself if user decides to continuously run it on high (perhaps in gloves). This is a major safety issue end even more of a deal breaker than no ramping from moonlight in e-switch UI.

Not sure about that. This UI behavior issue has been reported for several years and Simon just wasn’t interested to make a change,

Is it similar design as with M4U driver ? Single board with e-switch and USB charging port across the board?
(M4-U isn’t true e-switch though, it’s a side mechanical switch)
I wonder if they’re of the same size. and swappable?

Cross post from the other thread in case you missed it. Here are all 6 optics together. Although I ended up staying with the same 12 degree TIR optics that Simon had installed in my flashlight, it was not money wasted. The 24° and 36° have better rosy tint (but worse throw) and should be good for when the rosy itch comes calling.

Throw for 36° TIR is 114m, versus 175m for the 12°. Note the tint change is very obvious in my laptop with OLED screen, but not in another laptop with (lousy) IPS screen.
