Courui is a dedicated thrower with 300+Kcd when modified, and Q8 is a flooder with nice throw because of its power, but under any circumstances this kind of comparison are totally useless… 800 meters is just calculated throw according to measured candelas, but in reality if you want to shine on something far away you must use a thrower…
Just get a GT :smiling_imp:
DX80 will be great to use on 5000 lumen mode for extended periods, when you need a lot of light, while Q8 will get too hot if you run it on max more then a few minutes, DX80 shouldn’t be even warm because each led would produce under 700 lumens …
This, we all hope!
I will send a huge Thank You! in advance to Maiden666 for his detailed reviews!
It’s ok for me, that GB is still not shipping, so in case of a serious quality problem, there maybe still is time for me to cancel the order…
But for sure I hope the light works well now!
That’s more serious approach from GearBest, unlike other companies they will perform QC on each light to be sure everything is good. That’s what they told me…
Yes I know the factory distance is 800 meters but does it really throw 800 meters? Like my Imalent DT70 the factory throwing distance is 700 meters but the real throwing distance is just over 620 meters.
Why is throw important with flood light? I mean you have 30K lumens and anything in range of 100 to 200 meters will be like daylight , but further away not so much…
With DT70 it’s different story , dedomed emitters and much deeper reflector makes it a hybrid with defined hotspot, so you might expect better results with DT70 then DX80.
Indeed that is so true what you said NikolaS and yes I’m also aware of your statement. The 800 meter does not sound right to me with domed emitters and no deep reflectors. That’s the reason why I’m asking the question.
I have inspected the beam shots closely. To me, the DX80 seems to be severely underperforming according to the rated specs. It looks like it is only throwing about 90kcd instead of 165kcd judging by the comparisons to the tk75 and x60m. That would be pretty sad if it were true and a huge blow to imalent’s already poor reputation.
