[Review] - Imalent R70C - XHP70.2, 6500 lumen, 403500cd, 1270mt - by Lock

I hope it does, i might order it this Fri…you can get for under $200…so what the hey…

I think because the GT70 and MF04S were released before the R70C, most people who like this kind of light already have one. Also the R70C is only available in CW, while more people prefer NW.

I bet your right, if it came out sooner…people would be all up on it.

Well, just got it, nice light, but my LED is off center, hot spot ses fine, but theres a bright eing around the carona? Does anybody else have this light? Can you tell me if yours is the same?

That's not good. At this price range, your light should not have a problem like that. I just tried to unscrew my bezel. I stopped when I got to a point where I thought I might damage the bezel. All I can say is that if its out of place, the reflector may be bent. The centering ring looks pretty beefy and everything in this light seems close tolerance. I would contact the vendor immediately. Sorry for the blurry shot. It's late and I need to go crash.

Thanks for that, mine is like this

Oh man that sucks. You might be able to manually center it. Most of the time, the mcpcb is only adhered with thermal paste so it can slide around.

Yeah it sucks, im gonna talk to Neal tomarrow, Imale t should have cought it, its not Neals fault for sending to me…shame on Imalent.

Yea I’ve been reading a lot about Imalent’s lack of QA/QC. The fan in Newlumen’s brand new MS12 was broken. It’s good that they easily accepted the RMA but it still cost some money for Newlumen to ship it back. Not sure if the head is glued but if you can twist it off, the reflector should just come out and you can use your hands to slide the mcpcb over a bit to center it. Will save you the hassle of the RMA process.

I know that, it sucks he got that, i dont wanna take it apart, i should have to, plus not good at it…lol…i will see what Neal says.

added to the review the comparison between Haikelite MT07S XHP70.2 and Imalent R70C

No joke, this light needs a NW option and it will sell noticeably better. Such lights are quite specialist in nature and are most probably bought by enthusiasts.

Also, don’t forget the tint shift of the 70.2 CW, though I read that it’s improved from the first gen 70 in a number of lights. Such things matter to quite a fair number of enthusiasts.
