[Review] Kind of a 21700 flashlight - ACEBEAM P20 attack thrower

My review of the aggressive looking ACEBEAM P20 searchlight

Quench-Polish-Quench!!!

1 Thank

I thought that the plunger style light had gone the way of the Dodo.

At first I thought that it was a 2x AA or 2x 18650. It is interesting that it is a 2x 21700 though.

It is also amazing to see that the FT03 with the 90.2 is still holding it’s own against newer lights.

So what good and bad about the light did you discover? That and you not commenting but using sound bites are my only criticisms on your vids.

Thanks for your time putting the vid up.

I reviewed it. Overall its great! Unique but functional design, amazing quality, somewhat versatile since you can use your own batteries (but makes the tail switch useless). Performance is the biggest downside. It doesn’t meet the output specs from Acebeam evem though the performance isn’t bad. It totally blows away the ft03s overall. No comparison for sustained output or quality.

Like I put in the video, I was impressed with 90 secs of Turbo as let’s be honest SBT90.2 isn’t usually great with the intense heat it generates. Disappointing you can’t use 2 x 21700 unprotected button tops but I understand why manufacturers don’t want you using 2 old, unbalanced, fake, tatty wrapped ultrafires! 2 balanced protected cells might be a pita to get or pricey.
Tint is nice, typical SBT90.2. The light isn’t too heavy. Performance was about right. Weird how all brands over rate SBT90.2 lumens.
The UI and button feel is nice though it might frustrate some who want to cycle levels after turning on via the rear switch. Rear switch lights that can comfortably tailstand is always a huge bonus.
Styling wise the light is pleasing on the eye. Very photogenic for close up photography. The head is a thing of beauty.
