A review of the SK05 II Pro from LOOP GEAR comparing 3 different versions including High CRI and thermals.
during your testing did you notice any issues with button presses? I have 2 of the new SKO5s and both have issues (1 slightly worse) with non-recognition of button presses. Attempted double-clicks frequently result in the light turning off.
Support told me that they improved the button to make it more reliable but this is something I have never experienced on an OG SK05 or any other light for that matter so I’m curious what exactly is going on.
No, to be honest the buttons have worked flawlessly on all three models. I thought it would be an issue with the 4 clicks on the side light changing brightness but not had a single issue.
thanks for the quick response. I’m really curious if both of my lights are faulty or my thumb is!
Seems unlucky if both are faulty. Have you had someone else try it?
I’ll have my 10-yo try it today. He has an sk05 helm (the non-pro) and has never had any issues with actuation. The more I play with my Pro 2s, the more I’m convinced it’s not a me problem.
From my perspective, if the button is making a clicking sound, it should register but for me it requires some additional amount of pressure to ensure that it’s connecting. I haven’t been able to replicate that behavior on any other light I own.
Keep us posted. For sure, for me as it clicks it registers, no additional pressure needed.
reporting back that Loopgear is aware of the problem and is going to help get me sorted out. I’ve had nothing but wonderful experience with their support over the last year (mostly out of me changing orders, not product issues) and I have faith this will get resolved.
