Sure, please use the picture.
I polished the refector but to be very honest, it did not make a huge difference
Sanding the led is what makes the spot really nice!
i am afraid the boney will soon be replaced by the E01 ... ;)
-NICHIA 90CRI NVSW219C-R9050-SW40 LED
-Max 120 Lumens output
-Orange Peel reflector
-Head rotary switch
-Compatible with one AAA Alkaline or NI-MH battery
-Aerospace grade aluminum body
-Mil-Standard type III hard anodize
-Meet IPX-8 waterproof standard
-Impact resit up to 2 meters
LOL, you beat me to it Martin! I had been aware of that for a bit, and just waiting on some more specs, but it looks like a very nice upgrade! Nichia 219B and a good OP reflector….
i hope so!
and i hope we get a good price!
I definitively will get one too.
But I am curious about the runtime and the (discounted) price and whether the E01 can beat the Boney on that.
Just ordered another two for $4.99 as it is my favorite give-away flashlight
It will be more expensive than the 5MM LED version of course, but no price yet for us…
I agree, the original Boney is one of my favorite give away lights, upward of a dozen so far!
The runtime will suffer at 120 lumen, but perhaps some modes will be available now….
Is it just one mode?
the boney has one mode
No. I meant the upcoming E01
Manker describes it as -NICHIA 90CRI NVSW219C-R9050-SW40 LED
“Max 120 Lumens output ” which at first I took to mean that it is more than one mode, but who knows.
3 mode
This Manker E01 with NICHIA 90CRI NVSW219C- R9050- SW40 LED and the following modes:
low 0.14lm (l00h) mid 7lm (7.2h) high 102lm(0.5h) strobe 102lm
and this Astrolux are to me identical, same keyring hole, same NICHIA 90 CRI NVSW219C-R9050-SW40 LED with lens, same modes.
I hope someone who knows how to wave a light to spot PWM reports whether they use PWM or not.
I saw this E01 as well on eBay, I was wondering if the seller was trying to trick people to buying it buy posting a different Nichia LED (not the 5mm). So this is really a new version, the same as the Astrolux A1/
I think E01 was/is the Manker name for the Astrolux A01… I know I told Neal that Fenix already has E01 as a name, perhaps these are branding sell offs… Should be comparable to the A01 with the emitter and output…
I bought two using code. As a comparison, the brightness is higher than Tank007 E09 on low. Good single mode light for the elderly folks. Saw the figure8 hotspot on wall too.

If you polish the LED with some green scotchbrite pad (like a fluffy sandpaper) it will make it more white and blend that figure 8 into a nice “regular” round beam shape.
