The flashlight was sent to me by FlashlightGo for review.
Here’s the product’s link for more info: Olight i16 (non-affiliate)
The flashlight comes in a slim, texturised cardboard box.
The following accessories are included:
- USB Type-C charging cable.
- User manual.
- Keyring (pre-installed on the light).
The Olight i16 is a super compact, twisty, keychain light.
Its entirely made out of aluminum and its body comes engraved with Olight symbols.
On the front of the light, we can see a slim metal bezel that protects the lens.
Looking into the head, we can see that the i16 uses a TIR lens.
Unfortunately, Olight doesn’t specify the actual LED emitter that’s being used.
Here’s the emitter along with the TIR lens in action.
The back side of the light contains a hole, which houses the keychain ring.
Once the head is fully unscrew, the user gains access on the charging interface.
A regular Type-C port is used for charging.
Once plugged in, the indicator LED on the side of the charging port will light to indicate the battery’s charge level.
The i16 comes with an 130mAh 10220 battery integrated into its body.
Once plugged in, I recorded a charging current of 133mA.
An o-ring is in place between the front and rear portion of the keychain light, in order to prevent moisture from reaching the charging port.
Finally, here’s the light attached to my keys.
As can be seen, its overall length is pretty compact.
User Interface
The Olight i16 is a twisty light, so the user will operate it via twisting its head.
Here’s all the supported actions of the lights firmware:
Turn on/off: Twist clockwise / unti-clock wise.
Mode cycle: The light will turn on at Low. If you give it another half a turn, it’ll go to High.
Output
Here’s my output measurements with the Olight i16 fully charged.
As can be seen, the Olight i16 pushes 168 lumen at High, which is quite impressive for a little keychain light.
Bottom Line
Overall I’ve really liked the Olight i16 light.
In typical fashion, its build quality is great and the twisty way of operating is perfect for a keychain light.
No unnecessary bells and whistles - just a very nice and simple EDC light.
