Hi guys, how are you doing? I’m a newbiew here and I’ve found your great forum from a link in an Amazon review.
This is the thing. I’ve bought the Opus BT-C3400 from eBay last year and I’ve probably used less than ten times to charge some batteries.
The last couple of times I’ve used it, I’ve noticed that the fan would never start running; even though the temperature of the batteries were very hot. Now, when I went to check, I noticed that at those times, that mA value is 0, meaning that the thermal protection kicked in (> 40°), so the charging is waiting for it to cool off.
By the way, I’m not from the US, so I can’t ask the seller to send me a replacement fan or something like that. But I’ll be back in San Francisco this year on a business trip.
So, long story short, could you please point me to an eBay/Amazon link of the best fan I could buy to replace in my unit? I’ve seen posts like this SUNON replacement that seem great, but I was wondering if there are other alternatives; maybe better fans (I’d like to have “the best”), or some others that would alter the aesthetics of the product/chasis. I also saw this lubbing post just now, but I think that it would be a little too late to do it now…
Please let me know what you think. I’m very helpful in advance for your help.
Kind regards.
EDIT 1: Do you know the reason why the fan suddenly stops working? Is there a way to fix it up temporarily until October when I can get a better one?
EDIT 2: I’ve seen GearBest (the owner of the product?) recommending to buy this Fan Replacement, but I think that is exactly the one that came in the BT-C3400, so it’s probably crap, right?
