Review request for HKJ [Rechargeable Batteries]

My queue length varies over the year, now and the next few month I will have enough in queue.
Anyway, the small batteries cannot be tested on my normal test stations, but will have to be tested on the equipment I use for 9V batteries (it can handle low current with much better precision).

I don't have use for 10180s, but checked AliExpress for them. Just a couple of inexpensive, senseful sales from the same seller:

This format is unlikely to be used for very low drain applications (flashlights only?). With so little available capacity, testing should take the blink of an eye.

Claims of overstated capacity as usual.

But as I said, don't count me in as particularly interested; I mean, I do not want to distort the actual level of interest in these cells. Let's see what others say. :-)

Cheers ^:)

to be honest, not sure how consistently reliable those blue generic unbranded 10180 cells are going to be. I feel that they probably change from batch to batch. I’m hoping branded ones might be more reliable and consistent (though this might not necessary be the case), e.g. the mecarmy 10180 and the klarus 10180. As mentioned earlier in particular the klarus 10180 which is meant to be an INR cell.

I understand the difficulty in trying to source a klarus 10180 (unless you are also interested in buying the light), battery junction seems to be the only place that sells them loose. And international shipping cost more than the cell it self.

Curious recent find in AliExpress, LiitoKala Lii-40A cell: https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?SearchText=Lii-40A

If any of you in USA would like to try 'em, this seller free ships there: “Lii-40A” search in liitokala Official Store

Price of course looks good but, given that this cell isn't listed on the LiitoKala chinese website (stupid annoying floating banners, by the way). Of course, it may be a very recent product launch.

Cells could be Sanyo NCR20700B rewraps at excellent price, the newer Samsung INR21700-40T, some of the newer chinese OEM breed units… or some sort of awesome looking fake cells.

Hope you like this. :-)

Cheers

I see that Shockli has 3600 mAh 18650 on their site.
Likely overrated, but considering their great 26650 I’d be interested in seeing whether it’s good.

ifratos mentioned the LG M26 (datasheet) once, an interesting and overlooked cell, imho. Cheap as chips, here are some selected 2pcs links from AliExpress sellers:

A cell aimed at the light electric vehicle market. It's basically like half a PLB 5000mAh.

Cheers fellows :-)

Didn't know this cell... I guess it can really have its purpose... Thanks for the awareness Barkuti

I probably already have it in queue, but I do not know when I will test it

This probably is a cell being rewrapped by IJOY and/or Golisi (S35 review @ E-CigaretteForum). Chinese breed. Any idea who's the OEM and actual model number?

Cheers :-)

I’m very interested in 32650 reviews. 6000mAh and up. The highest theoretical capacity I found is 6500mAh here

I am very interested in seeing the Liitokala Li-18650 32a tested (black wrapper).

wstrachan, the Lii-32A is an LG MH1 rewrap. Since HKJ's MH1 test was done on the old station, I would also find an alternatewrap retest interesting.

Take a look at LiitoKala's chinese site (http://www.liitokala.com.cn), they're announcing the yellow wrapped Lii-40A cell now:

The specs are a freakin' mess, it says “30A power 5C Rate Discharge”, then “15A power 5C Discharge” then below it “Discharge: 40A Max Continuous”. And then you can see the picture: 15A. Probably whoever is in charge of sketching the pictures knows better LoL!

Cheers fellows :-)

That's because usually liitokala naming scheme confuse people the number for the name are just for capacity 32A (means 3.2Ah), 40A should just indicate 4000mAh

Maybe whoever did the spec page got confused himself too. :)

I am well aware of those intricacies, TheBo. Ignorant people seems to look for flashy wraps, tends to make incorrect assumptions, and sometimes blame others for their own retardedness. Just take a peek at these ICR18650-32A threads at FastTech :

There's a lot more bull@#$% in other battery product pages. They speak like if they are knowledgeable, yet their mouths are full of ignorance. Some believe the initials on the wraps are univocally related to the actual cell chemistry… LoL!

Learn more and better is my advice fellow vapers. :-)

Cheers ^:)

P.S.: I am particularly interested in knowing who's the actual manufacturer of the Lii-40A rewrap.

P.S.2: posted it above, cell price is quite affordable. AliExpress search link: https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?SearchText=Lii-40A

HKJ, I find your page Estimating remaning capacity in LiIon batteries to be extremely useful! I have never seen this kind of information for current cells anywhere else. Unfortunately you haven't updated it in a long time. The NCR18650B cells are five years old now and some very popular type cells are missing, especially high-current, high-capacity cells like Samsung 30Q, LG HG2, Sony VTC5(A)/6 etc. It would be nice if you could try adding more cells in the future.

BTW: the word"remaning" in the title is missing an "i" ;)

I am thinking about doing a new run, but I need a free test station, probably the one I use for NiMH batteries, it will be idle in a couple weeks.

I guess you meant to say “five years old now”, don't you The_Driver?

Cheers :-D

IMREN 21700 4800mAh Battery

I have a fairly long queue for testing >2800mAh batteries, but I ordered a LiitoKala 21700 and a 32600 anyway.
