Isn’t that the coolest looking single cell charger,or what?

hello ,
Will this be a good charger or best for the price for unprotected battery?
(Samsung, panasonic and sanyo unprotected battery only)

It will be a good charger, but not the best. If you are only looking for a 18650 charger, check the Soshine max. for more sizes batteries Xtar has some very good chargers, but they are usual more expensive.

thanks! I’m actually looking for multi size battery charger.
I think this would be good for now

can this charge 4.35V batteries like the Sanyo UR18650ZT 18650 2800mAh Protected Rechargeable Lithium Batteries (2-pack) from fasttech that requires 4.35V chargers?

Yes, any 4.30 or 4.35 volt battery can be charger on it, but you will not get full capacity. How much less you get, can be seen in my reviews of the batteries.

On some protected 4.30 and 4.35 volt batteries, the protection circuit will prevent charging them to full capacity, i.e. they must be charged on a 4.2 volt charger anyway.

thanks for the fast reply.
dully noted with thanks

Added thermal image.

Thanks for your efforts! Looks less hot than then the XP4 I (as opposed to XP4 II) charger, nice.

Good day HJK,

Could You Please Help?

I bought a Nitecore IntelliCharger I4, and I have noticed something “peculiar” about its behaviour when charging my 2 Panasonic NCR18650B Protected Rechargeable 3400mAh batteries (both charger & batteries bought in Sep’13).
.
I charge them at the same time, using slots 1 & 4 (I usually recharge them when they go down to about 3.90/3.95 Volts):

(1) . When the charger indicates that they are both fully charged after about 60 minutes (all 3 LEDs ON), I take them out & check their Voltage with my DMM.
Then both batteries are at 4.12V
.
(2). I then put the batteries back into the charger => 1 LED ON & 1 LED FLASHING for about 7 min
Then 2 LEDs ON & 1 LED FLASHING for about 9 minutes.
Then all 3 LEDs ON
Then both batteries are at 4.21V
.
Why does it it indicate full charge in (1) but the batteries are only at 4.12V
Why, if I then immediately recharge them again, it will then charge them to 4.21V

Shouldn’t it be charging them to 4.21V in (1) above?
.
Thank You Very Much,

Best Regards,
Roberta

I do not have a good idea.

Try measuring the voltage on the batteries 1 hour after charging, this will make the two voltages much more comparable. Batteries does drop in voltage over the first hour, when charging is finished, but a drop from 4.21 to 4.12 volt is to high for new batteries.

Thank Tou Very Much for your Greatly Appreciated reply.

So this would not be a good charger to keep protected 18650’s happy and balanced in two flashlights having three cells and a single cell?

As long as the voltage is the same on all batteries, there should be no worries for damage.

Ah you see there would bound to be a difference in voltage because I doubt my use of two torches would result in all four cells being the same. More likely 3 cells in one torch would be equal, and I’d have the single cell on its own at a different level. So this would be no good?

How does it compare to the Xtar VP1 and/or Xtar SP2?

Both VP1 and SP2 are better LiIon chargers with multiple current settings and very good CC/CV charging.

But they are only LiIon chargers, the i4 can also charger NiMH.

I’ve been using the Intellicharger i4 for about a week now, primarily charging 18650 batteries. What a superb charger! My relatively new and highly regarded Pila, on the other hand, has turned out to be an overpriced piece of *p. I would like to get an Xtar VP1 for comparison purposes.
