My review of the Type-C rechargeable RovyVon E7 UV edition (E7U)
500 lumens of CRI95 goodness!!! 0.3/30 lumens side lights
Thanks for your review of the RovyVon E7.
I’d been back and forth on getting this one. The E5 “cousin” is simply the same light but has orange accents and a green glow, versus the E7 with blue accents and a blue glow. RovyVon didn’t do a good job with the GITD polymer. It’s actually not bad on the A5/A8, as the whole casing glows. Despite its lackluster staying power, even hours later you can dimly see the light. The A7 uses blue, and it’s not as bright as the green. On the E5/7/8 series, it looks like the polycarbonate GITD diminishes quickly, and it’s worse on the E7.
I’d seen a review of this light carried for 6 straight months in a pocket along with keys. While the anodizing of the front bezel was worn at the edges, it didn’t look bad, but the polycarbonate casing cracked near the USB-C port (a problem that has apparently happened for some other owners).
There’s a sale going on… bringing it down to just slightly under $33 USD. But it’s the 700 lumens 6500k version. With a filter over the emitters, you can cut down that glaring bluish tinge.
