Review: Ultrafire X3

I got a new light in the mail yesterday, and thought I’d do a quickie review;

Ultra fire X3 is one of the new style flat flashlights in the shape of a small remote control. Three lights in one . red laser , ultraviolet and a 4 mode flashlight. There is a nice 3 position switch on the side to shift gears between laser, uv or flashlight . 4 modes with memory, so it comes on in whatever mode you shut it off, some people are really going to appreciate that. Comes with a very nice looking stainless steel two way clip . I’m normally not a fan of 2 way clips but I’d say this is a very good one. It’s attractive and very sturdy, the magnet on the tail is strong enough hold the flashlight horizontally. It will come in handy when you need both hands free to perform a task.
4 really well spaced modes . Low is 3.5 lumes with a runtime of over 150 hours . Medium is 55 lumens 15 hrs. , high is 220 lumens for 4 hours and turbo at 1200 lumens .
the beam has zero artifacts and because it uses a smaller optic the beam is a big well defined hot spot and just the right amount of spill . A very good looking useful shaped beam .

The first thing you notice is the X3 has great balance and just feels right in your hand . the cut outs on each side give it just enough grip without being too aggressive . the rest of the light is a very fine finish that makes the light feel classy . The stainless steel clip is bolted down and doesn’t stick out to far like most 2/ way clips do . This is probably the best one I’ve seen to date . Small stainless bezel and ring around the button are just touches that mean someone decided to actually care . Same with the fact they didn’t trash up their own product by putting their name , model number or some stupid beware symbol all over the light . Overall it’s a great looking light that feels really good in your hand . Your thumb naturally falls onto the button which has a U - for Ultrafire and lights up green for about a second when you turn the light on . Depending on the charge on the battery the light is green, yellow, red, flashing red .
The ultraviolet light and the red Laser are just fun options to have all together in one light .
The battery is 1200mah and charged via UsbC

The light comes in a nice 2 piece box so it makes a good looking gift . On the side of the box it says it comes in multiple colors and a red light option instead of UV.
I got the black with the UV and am absolutely happy .

Being a true flashaholic and owning too many lights I know within a matter of seconds whether a flashlight is something I’m going to want to shove back in the box and never think about again. That was not the case with this light .
My first and final reaction is …I like it .
