What you get in the box and build quality

The light comes in a compact black/orange box with some basic information on it. The foam in it looks cheap, but protects the light surprisingly good. Also included is a USB-A-C-cable and a multilingual manual.

At first, I couldn’t believe the feel of the light for the 20€ I paid for it. It’s heavy and very well made, no flaws in machining or anodization.

There are some slightly sharp corners on the edge to the plastic back plate though - by the way the only piece of plastic i could find.

The side switches feel amazing at first, they are metal covered. The one for the spot LED has a cute cat face on it, the flood one a sawblade. The switch for the sidelight is a small, round rubber button.

Using the light, all the switches are a little spongy and require a bit more force to press than i would like them to, but they work just fine.

There are several laser engravings all over the light, if you like them is up to you.

The spot LED sits in a small, not too deep reflector, covered by a plastic lens.
The flood LEDs sit behind a TIR which doesn’t seem to be covered by glass.

The USB-C-Port is covered with a rubber cover that is nicely integrated an provides a good seal.

The sidelight is nicely integrated, but you could criticize that the light spills out outside of the black frame.Considering the price, this is more than nitpicking.

There is a battery indicator next to the switches, nicely integrated.

For those who are interested, the light was already partially disassembled and you can have a closer look at the LEDs:

Size

Yemao states: 113×49×26mm, i measured 113,5x49,5x26 (30,5 with clip), i would call that in range. My scale showed 249g.

Left to right: Copper Sofirn SC13, Yemao A200, Wurkkos FC11C

Carrying Options

Lanyard: There is no Lanyard included and no good option to attach one. You could only attach it to the clip

Clip: The clip is beefy and strong, very securely attached to the light with 2 screws. Its not deep carry, but has room for thicker webbing or trousers.

Magnet: The magnet is amazing. The light is held securely in every position, even on slippery surfaces. It’a a very good magnet!

UI

To start with the bad: There is no shortcut to moonmode, because there is no moonmode.

There is no lock either.

From off, a long press on cat or bladeswitch enables strobe on both front channels.
Triple click any of those gives you turbo with both front channels.
The Cat button controls spot, the blade button flood.
A double click is turbo, a single click on/off and hold changes modes. Simple, easy, perfectly fine.
The small rubber switch controls the sidelight beneath it.

Doubleclick from off for police lights (red/blue), single click for on/off. Doubleclick from on to change the mode, hold to change the color.

There are following modes:

solid, breathing, running, droplets (Colour selectable by long press).

RGB

white (long press controls high/med/low)

Beam profile and measurements

All measurements are done on hobby equipment. I can’t tell how exact those are, but they will be within 20% accuracy. On the other lights i tested, the results were in line with those of other reviewers, but it might favour some beam types

Keep in mind, we are talking about a light that costs between 20 and 30€. What can we expect from that?

Quite a lot!

Ok, the regulation is not the best. Didn’t expect anything else. But overall, it’s really not bad. The initial output is great, Turbo can be repeatedly activated and seems temperatur controlled, as it is higher if the light has cooled off.

(Sorry, the beginning overshot badly. After stepdown, the light is at around 400 lumen.)

But now let’s not talk about performance, but the light quality.

Ok, the spot is cold, with over 7000K, but DUV-0.0032 ! And with a CRI of 75, it is low CRI, but that looks way better than those below 70 emitters.

Flood is slightly warmer, at 6200k, and around 72 CRI. DUV is 0,0028 - not bad either.

The colors of the sidelight are cool and easily selectable, white is a RGB mix, so don’t even think about tint and CRI - its terrible. It is somewhat white, but it’s not a strength of the light.

How does the beam look? Flood isn’t pure flood, it’s more like the Wurkkos TS26 or the flood of the Acebeam M1 - it illuminates a wide area with a huge spot and soft spill, very useful and looks good.
Flood beam (Settings not locked, just for beam shape):

Spot:

Both:

The Spot throws a bit less than I would prefer, the advantage over the flood isn’t that big - but it reaches further than the spill and is nice if you don’t want to illuminate a huge area.

That also shows in numbers. Reach for flood is 210m, for throw we are talking about 250m.

Summary

Initially I just wanted to try the form factor. But this light was a surprise. Good quality, great feel in the hand, good output and reasonable sustain - for a laughable price.

It might not be the same quality a Loopgear SK05 is and i can’t tell as i don’t own one of these, but it’s far better than any cheap chinese light - so good that I ordered another Yemao model to try it out!

Can’t praise enough how positively surprised I am by this light, honestly it has become one of my most grabbed lights.

That all is topped of with a UI that would be only better with moonlight instead of strobe and as only downsight a white side light that isn’t the nicest

2 Thanks

I second this.
I changed the LEDs in mine to 519A 5700K (which is a fantastic mod for this light!) and the flood is essentially as far reaching as the throw.
So for me it’s more of a heat question and for how long I want the light to last without getting overheated.
Maybe if you would put in a different LED with a smaller LES it would make a bigger difference, but I wanted to have the same CCT/CRI.

But overall a very nice light that you can get fairly well priced sometimes!

Now that the review is done, i might mod mine, too. Have some high CRI SFT-25R on the way, maybe one of these for the spot and some 519A in a matching cct for the flood.

But it’s a tough decision, the original LEDs aren’t that bad and the light works great…
