RIP: Xtar ST2

Bought a XTAR ST2 in September 2021 and it broke yesterday.

I was charging two Molicel P45B 21700s at 2x4.1A when I noticed the % display was “stuck” on the same number even though voltage was rising normally.
A few minutes later I heard a single cracking noise from the charger and when I went to investigate the display was off (the ST2 display does not switch off completely by itself during normal operation).
After dis/reconnecting the ST2 to power it seemed to start up normally but it does not react to any cell inserted into the right charging bay now. The charger has never been abused and hasn’t even been used a lot (perhaps ~30 times in total).

Kinda sad, my first negative experience with XTAR so far. Really liked the charger while it was still working.
Now, which one to get next … :mag:

Xtar X2, been using 2 of them for a while now. One is an older model that does not support 21700, and a new “Extended” one. Not a problem in sight, and I am very satisfied with them.

Left bay is 2A charging, right one is 1A. Two batteries inserted at the same time charge at 1A each.
