In my city, finally (The project started in 2014), public lighting become to LED; For now they have been replaced 51thousand lighting points (public lampposts in Rome are approximately 190.000); before they were in high pressure sodium and metal halide and gave a light of about 2000°K; now it will be 4000°K in the city, and 3600°K only in the historical center.
that is great - do you know which LEDs they are going to utilize?
Good news! 4000K is great for public lighting (and 3600K is my personal favorite tint )
3000k 95CRI is optimal for me, but okay. At least they bumped the CRI from 2 to 75.
4000k looks great, nice and clean. But doesn’t it also make light pollution worse? I think 3000k would have been better.
Either way it should be a great investment for Rome.
