Hmm, I was hoping you’d already bought one and was going to tell us about it.
Way I see it, assuming it is an authentic Sanrenmu, this is Sanrenmu’s initial attempt to break out of the “cheap small knives” market. We’ve speculated about whether people would accept a Chinese manufacturer selling midrange knives, and this is how we’ll find out.
Sandvik steel requires a bit more investment on their part than the normal 8Cr13MoV, and that’s reflected in the price.
When I’m feeling a bit more flush I’ll probably buy an orange one. I really like orange knives.
I didn't know the Opinel Inox used sandvik steel. But I agree they are very good blades for the money. Salami slices itself out of fear when you take out the knife
And customising the wood handle can be a lot of fun.
Not gonna lie… Sandvik didn’t factor into my desire at all. Mostly because I don’t believe for a second that is what it really is! Just like the look of it. (As long as its not a total piece of crap.)
Have a sandvik Kershaw Skyline. It’s my favorite folder.
Ming Ren, Sanrenmu… don’t give a shit. They’re both foreign and often mispronounced.
