Dents on the Surefire : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2Q55phaLzU 4:00min (that sure doesn't look anything close to 26m/s or 80kph)

Nope, I didn't. I like to keep my flashlights in good looking condition :)

However, I still have in my mind a Fenix T1 crush test. The flashlight survived approx. 10 tons on a press between metal clamps. That's something!

From my cursory calculations ...with 35m drop and a 5mm head deformation (blind guess), the load on the head is approx. 1200kg.

10 Tons of pressure? How can I be sure of that?

It's like those tests where they boil the flashlight for an hour and it still works? What king of batteries do they use? over 60 Celsius batteries probably won't work, some will explode. And even so, at that temperature the batteries shouldn't last more than 10 minutes.

This makes me want to test some flashlights just by stomping them, no need for 10 tons. Anyway that Fenix is not a thin flashlight, seems to have a compact mass of aluminum, small reflector. It sure is no benchmark for me, as I don't have flashlights as thick as that Fenix.

It's in one of my crush/stress/torture vid list that i posted in my TK703 test thread.

Fenix T1, 20k pounds. About 10 tons. That's for the head only, tailcap would not survive that.

4.5mm thick head walls. The Yezl M7 is nearly that thick too, and extremely solid. Another light that could compare is the RRT-2.

Here's another TK10 test, lots of deformation too.

Lots of people say there is no use for this level of toughness, i'd agree. But then i have an app which needs this.

The Fenix T1 has a stainless steel bezel that doesn't look that thin, it should offer some sort resistance to the pressing machine, not much but it's welcomed in this case. They say it applies 10 tons, but I don't see a gauge proving that.

CN Post is slow until crazy! Still no notice of arrival at local customs from overseas via local PO tracking, after being posted on 24th. (ordered on 21st)

I ordered from this website the protected panasonic 18650*3100mAh, I will update here if you don't mind to let everyone know how good is this seller doing it.

My first impression was good, with a quick response to an email I sent them, and by the way they are much cheaper than redilast 3100 and Callie's Kustom.

What I asked them was about the protection circuit, to make sure it can manage to give 6A and they confirmed it.

By the way, the JM05 looks really nice, at least as nice as the JM07 for me, I don't have any Shadow, but I have also been told very nice things about their quality.

The only reason I would buy the JM07 instead is due to there are different heads available for them with deeper reflectors, or with a bigger diameter for multi-led lovers and also there is the possibility of using extension tubes for 2*26650 configurations for high demanding leds as SST-90 or for multi-leds.

Two guys on this forum received their flashlights in two weeks. I wonder why it take longer for others.

Well, i own the Spolite Scorpio number 11F0000392 and can confirm, it’s a hell of a bitch of a flashlight!
Very well made, smoothest operation of the tail switch and really good beam with XP-G R5 and light orange peel reflector. Simply perfect, but unfortunately not made anymore…
