SFT40 CCT longer distance but general purpose light

Also, I think the S2 (non +) has a deeper reflector than the other Convoy S series flashlights. :+1:

S2 and S6 use the same deep reflector.

I think it used to be that the S2 had the deepest reflector of the S series, but perhaps not.

I only have 11 more to go… I imagine snapping 12 meaningful beam shots would be just as easy? :-)

Great collection in the size-range that I’m attracted to.

Probably pushing the envelope for pocket carry, but I’ve ordered my DM11. :slightly_smiling_face:

Yeah, I like to EDC somewhat larger lights as well.
This is my current EDC…

It fits in my shorts’ pocket, but if it were about 10% bigger it probably wouldn’t fit. :shorts:

Is that a torch in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

Grizzly’s review of the DM11 is a few years old, the tube has been redesigned and now has the same knurling as the D4K. I still expect the pocket clip to be terrible, but given the size and shape of the light I doubt I’d use the clip anyway, so I didn’t ask for one.

So far the biggest light I’ve EDC’d is my P16, generally it’s either my D4K or (currently) IF24 Pro. I imagine the DM11 will get most use at home, but it should be comfortably jacket-pocketable and will definitely go in a sling-bag that I sometimes carry.

I do really like the IF24 Pro. The UI could use improvement, IE not turning on when changing mode, but the SFT40 with a slightly broader hotspot is really practical - it can be used nicely as a walking light or indoors but still throws plenty and the 5000K temp is really nice. The “moonlight” is too bright with the SFT40, but then you can use the side lights, and they’re good for high-CRI flood. Personally I don’t find the RGB lights useful, but they’re fun.

I don’t think I can commit to taking beamshot pics  Besides, most of these don’t have stock emitters.

Everyone’s personal views on carrying a flashlight are different depending on their own preferences, needs, etc. I’ll add that my views have changed over time. I now find all of these lights to be too bulky to regularly carry unless it’s in a jacket or coat. The 18XXX diameter is just too big for my preferences.

So given that I’m wearing a jacket if I have one of these on my person, I don’t care so much about them using a short battery (with some exceptions). In particular, the FW1A, D1, and KR1 are always using the 18650 tubes and they are still quite compact.

I mostly moved away from 18xxx as well - if I carry a bag/jacket, 21700 is fine and offers way more runtime, and if I don’t, 18xxx is already too thick to EDC for me. I love 18350s for how they feel, look and handle, but I don’t really like carrying them for EDC.

I am still looking for a 14500 light which I like as EDC…

Yes, great point and I agree completely. If I’m carrying an 18650 light it probably means I’m wearing a jacket, or have a bag, and a 21700 would be just as easy to carry.

I always have a keychain light. Sometimes I will EDC an AA/14500 (maybe 16340), which is almost always the TS10. Good luck finding your perfect EDC 14500.

Have you tried a FWAA?

FWAA next to a TS10:

2 Thanks

I was trying to skip one step: a keychain (I have Nitecore TIKA which is great except for the ugly main LED tint, but there are Auroras and others with better tint and CRI), and something bigger/throwier but still not too big for a jacket or a bag, without the size in between. I don’t know anymore - there is so many nice lights out there…

FWAA is gorgeous, but where can one still source them?

TS10 is pretty cute, too, but already a bit thicker, right?

Killzone has some in stock:

The FWAA and TS10 are pretty close in size.
I haven’t measured them with a calipers but the FWAA is slightly longer.
I’ve had several TS10 pass through my hands and I’ve only kept the 1 Brass one for sentimental value, it just sits in it’s box.
My dad was a huge brass fan.

Thx! Too bad they are in the US, between shipping and customs that would be outrageously expensive :frowning:
I wonder why Lumintop discontinued their best product line…

TS10 would need a redesigned driver (boost driver + 3S MCPCB like D3AA), then it would be pretty dope. No idea what driver the FWAA brings, probably not the best either?

FET+1 Similar To the TS10
