Shadow TC6 neutral white 4C XM-L! 2 x 18650, should be regulated.

So how well do we think this compares to the likes of Sky*Ray STL-V2, JetBeam BC40, etc? I absolutely love the looks of it.

Sky*Ray STL-V2, JetBeam BC40 are tested flashlights.

Well this one, nobody seems to have it yet. Confusing pics. OP reflector, SMO reflector. Different glass type. Does it come with accessories or not? Regulated or not? Memory mode, no memory mode?

Since the head is 45mm it joins the BC40 category. I don't think it compares to Sky*Ray STL-V2. Different types of flashlights in my opinion.

I really like how this TC6 looks, and the theoretical part 2.5 A, 800L, build quality.

But still you pay 45$ or $ 49(excluding shipping) on something that the seller posts pics having a smooth reflector then tells one guy it's a orange peel reflector. Since this light is "floating" on the chinese websites @ 2A too, maybe it's not 2.5A after all.

I just ordered one, will review it when it gets here. Looks promising with its square threads and brass contacts, hopefully its performance is as nice as its looks : )

it looks like they have a smaller cousin from the same company that looks pretty interesting too.

neutral tint and low draw. my kind of light.

Type III ano, square threads and flat stainless bezels at both ends, makes me want to drool.

If it is a nice light, i will treat it to a UCL lens. I know it costs $$$, but heck it is really not that much more, if it's nice it's nice! It should be regulated.

I also have this light on the way and I am really looking forward to it’s arrival!

At first, Hi to all !!

There seem to be a lot of interest in this light, so I thought, I'll write a few lines about it. I ordered the light from Ric (cnqualitygoods.com) and it came today. Somehow, all parcels from Ric arrive to me very quickly.

I like exotic (and good looking) models, so I thought, I'll give it a try. The light came without this hard box, that is pictured on some Taobao listings, but all accesories are present (lanyard, o-rings, spare switch, spare glass). The reflector is light OP, pretty much similiar to Ultrafire C8 reflector (pictured below). The glass doesn't have a nice violet coating, that is also pictured on Taobao, it's clear. The spare one, too. It's clean, no dust, no fingerprints, etc. Reflector is nice and clean, too. LED is well centered.

The body has some brass insterts to improve electrical contact (I suppose) on both sides. The clicky is reverse one (no momentary-on) with good feedback. Not too soft, not too firm. Body finish is superb, almost as good as on old Jetbeam lights (here I refer to M1X V2, which in my opinion is best Jetbeam light ever). But there was a ding on my head. The ding must occur before anodizing... because it's also very nice coated (see it on photos below).

The light engine is made of brass, and it has a thermal compound applied to the threads . That's good.

All threads are good quality, not square, but smooth and nicely cut. There is a little lube on them (should put more). The body has also double orings. All in all, the machining and finish is outstanding for this price. If only the head wasn't dinged that much...

The LED is warm. Definitely not 4C, as advertised. It's much warmer than my XR-E Q3 5A lights (5A tint in XR-E LEDs is about 4300K). It's alomst as warm as incandescent bulb, with a touch of pink hue (which is good for warm LEDs).

As for the driver. From two 18650 AW 2200mAh cells it draws:

-1.3A high

-0.65A medium

-0.05 low

It doesn't have memory. Always starts from HIGH. Unfortunatelly, it has visible PWM. Around 300Hz (similiar to my Jetbeam C-LE v1.2, which has 317Hz).

As for the beam, it's clean, without artifacts. This light is not a huge thrower, but not a wimp either. Something around 17K-20K lux/1m. Not as throwy as my Jetbeam M1X V2, but much better than Fenix TK45.

Is it good? Yes. But not perfect. If it had no PWM, proper 4C tint, no dinged head ...and maybe forward clicky with modes change by twisting the head (like Olight M3X, for example) I'd buy two pieces more :) Nevertheless, I like it, as it is now. Definitely a keeper.

OK... to the pics:

Below is the ding on the head:

Comparision to the Jetbeam M1X V2:

Below is the reflector comparision: Shadow TC6 on the left, Ultrafire C8 on the right.

Beamshots, from left: Jetbeam M1X V2, Shadow TC6, Fenix TK45 (these beamshots were taken one meter from the wall, this is not enough to properly focus Jet M1X, so it appears not so well focused, in reality on larger distance, M1X has much brighter hot spot).

If you have questions, feel free to ask :)

Praise be you for these photos and this review.

sweet pics! very, very nice.

Do you have a luxmeter? Could you actually measure that.

The reflector looks identical in diameter with the one on Jetbeam BC40. But how I see it from the photos; BC40's reflector is deeper?

BC40 is 24K lux/1m . I'm wondering if this TC6 isn't a bit more than 20K @ 1m .

SkyRay 3800 can do 18K .....

I bet that tint is sweet for the lights purpose (outdoors)

Sorry, don't have a luxmeter. My estimation was based on comparision to other lights that I own, that were extensively tested over the flashlight forums.

Also, take into account, that since this flashlight uses WARM led, the flux bin is in best case - T4, which means it's roughly 14% less bright than COOL white leds with T6 flux bin.

When it comes for throw, I think using the smooth reflector (from C8 or MRV) could improve the lux values.

As for the tint - yes, it's nice. I don't like warm tints due to strong orange/brown hue, but this one is OK. Tomorrow, I'll try to do some outdoor beamshots. Including a proper 4B tint (which is very similar to "advertised" 4C), so the folks in china that manufacture/make the light descriptions could see, how REAL tint from "4" range, look.

I know that, that's why I was trying to compare it with BC40, that one has a OP reflector.

I ordered one TC6 neutral too with smo reflector, should have it very soon, dhl takes 2 days. Have ordered one fandyfire STL 1 month ago from dx, should be here too in Monday, at last!!!

...Wait a second ...So Ric has also TC6 with smooth reflector ? ...Didn't say anything about it. Not nice...

Oh, by the way. The reflector from MRV needs using a isolating plate (some paper washer, etc.), because due to wider bottom, it makes short circuit with the LED wires. Happened to me yesterday, flashlight survived

Way to bring it coolperl!!

Really nice 4C tint as in netural white. This version comes with a nice AR coated glass lens in front, probably the price has something to do with it (it costs 4 bucks more). I cannot differentiate between the quality of this vs Dereelight/Fenix.

2 x Panasonic 18650 2900s (4.20V unloaded), it is 1.19A...not sure if it is regulated as I am not at home. Wee bit lower than my Fandyfire STL-V6 which is fully regulated (1.35A).

Edit : Confirm it is regulated. I put in a pair of 3.90V ultrafires and it rose to 1.27A.

Lux meter reflected light shows 57.5 lux for this neutral white light. Ultrafire U-80 with 2.5A drive (cool white) is 65 lux. So probably around there after accounting for the slight lumens efficacy loss for NW.

I recieved my cw tc6 yesterday. Looks as though I got ar coated lense as well. Also I will say this is Hands down the highest quality light for the money I have ever seen. Wow! However I did not receive any accessories with mine! :frowning: just the light itself.

more BEAMSHOTS !...please !
