The photos make the torch appear to be of very solid build.
Is this the case?
Thanks !

VERY solidly built. I can't believe it is available for 45-49 dollars at CNqualitygoods. I would have expected this quality and attention to detail in a much higher priced light.
Xeno E03 3C Neutral White vs Shadow TC6 neutral white 4C, plus the AR coating of the TC6
Just got mine. First of all, it is a very well built flashlight. Excellent, reminds me of the more expensive Jetbeam i have.
Has ucl lens and smooth reflector.
Driver draws 1amp from freshly charged batteries and gives 2amp on the led.
The performance of the Neutral 4C tint is 480 OTF, so i guess it is not a T6 emitter as they mention, but a T4.
I modded it with a U2 from cutter, and got a performance leap into 595 lumen, which is on a par with U2 performance for 2amp(750@2amp@25 C for a typical U2, so with reflector/glass/temperature loss of a 20%, number seem logical)
I am very happy with it, the color of the original emitter seems very nice. Definitely a keeper.
Can anyone comment on the beam with the SMO reflector. Is there any sign of a donut hole/darker centre area at any distance?
it is simply excellent for a smooth reflector. Can't go any better, i have a lot of smo reflectors in flashlights, this one is very smooth!!!!
ergotelis, estimate of original tint temp?
definitely 4000K,as 4c mentions. Not like warm white of 3C but not neutral like 5C. It is generally warm color.
To add a disadvantage i just noticed, it has a somehow distracting pwm, at least for me. Not that much like other flashlights(still remember this ugly olight M30), but definetly visible, at least for me. I am estimating it about 200-300hz range.
I have a SMO coming, but my OP's beam is perfect.
PWM is 260Hz.
3550k, 4000k, 4550k. Looks to me it is 4000k on my calibrated S-IPS monitor. Camera is set to 4000k.
So, i feel like having a great eye!Can catch the temperature color as well as the frequency of PWM :P
Yeah man, you are the expert!
very nice looking torch to me, i brought my old man a jetbeam bc40 i really like it, im thinking of buying one for myself but some thing simular would be nice, whats peoples thoughts is this much better then the jetbeam bc40
Someone reviewed the Shadow TC6 here :
http://edcforums.com/showthread.php/86522-Flashlight-Review-Shadow-TC6-XM-L-T6-Review
Nothing special, except the Looks and theoretically the build quality.
The led is not perfectly centered, probably acceptable for most people, but I do not like it that way.
Jetbeam BC40 does 24,000 lux @1m compared to TC6 16,700 lux @1m. Both measured with OP reflectors. ....
erns measured 64k from his TK70, btw. Later I asked him to measure at a special/longer distance (think he mentioned 7m) and he got 72k. Also his SR51 got 33k, while HKJ got 48k. Is the bc40 taken from him as well? Can't see it on LPF.
He is using a LM631, Agenthex mentioned something about pre-updated LM631 and another version with updated firmware or something, check out the CPF lux meter benchmarks - big difference.
Anyway...
Yes, IIRC the Shadow TC6 is not driven near 3A, believe tailcap like 1.2A only. (relative to my FF STL-V6 at 1.35A). Plus anyway mine is neutral white, i got the light due to that and the built/design, nothing else.
My copy is centered, because i got both the OP and SMO reflectors. Actually i like the OP better.
The lux measurement for BC40 is from Cpf's Selfbuilt review.
bc40 gets about 780 OTF and 23800 lux according to my tests. With an op reflector of course. The tc6 shadow, has 2 version for the drivers, the first batch was with a 2amp driver and the 2nd with a 2,5amp driver. i am waiting the 2,5amp driver, while with a smo reflector i am guessing it will get about 30000 lux.
According to Match's test the XM-L has 773.1 Lumens @ 2.4A . Somehow I doubt that TC6 will surpass the BC40.
I presume that ERNS has the 2.5A since on Cnqualitygoods you cannot choose which one to buy, except if you contact RIC.
Ergotelis,
Do you believe that the SMO reflector would make such a Drastic improvement , from 16,700 to about 30,000?
