I have two packages from two unrelated sellers, both stuck at 'Origin Post is Preparing Shipment', one for the past 7 days, the other for 12 days! Any clue what's going on? Is this normal, the tracking is broken and they'll both show up tomorrow, is there an a** I can put my foot in to get things moving, do I need to hitchhike to the west coast and build a boat from scrap then sail over there and get them myself?
Hi,
If you have an Android tablet, try getting “TrackChecker”. Someone here suggested it to me, and when I tried it, it provided more info that just looking at the websites…
track-trace.com just shows the above message for the USPS part, and the SingPost site says
14-05-2013 14-05-2013 Despatched to overseas (Country code: US)
16-05-2013 16-05-2013 Despatched to overseas (Country code: US)
Must be a very slow airplane with excellent fuel economy if it's not here yet and left when they said it did. Maybe there's a very strong headwind?
Yeah… me too. As far as I can see, the webpage is NOT updated regularly. Just last week I received a package from Fasttech while the Singpost webpage still showed that my package was awaiting arrival from overseas! And this happens quite regularly. It’s a hit-or-miss affair, AFAIK. Sometimes the site is updated on time and sometimes it’s not. Just goes to show you can have all the technology in the world but it doesn’t do any good unless it’s operated properly
Well one package from Lightmalls has shown up, in... Florida(?). I can't find on their site where they're located, except that they are 'on Beijing Time', which doesn't narrow it down much. Did it get sent around the world the wrong way (west)? LOL.
Other one from IOS is still lost in the ether somewhere. That's the order with the MTG2 Noctigons which I ordered as soon as they were announced, and others here ordered at the same time and already have theirs!
Never had any take this long to make it to the U.S. Once USPS has them they get here quick, usually 2-3 days from arrival in CA to delivered here in MS.
When did you order the MT-G2s? I ordered mine on 5/21, and got a tracking # pretty quickly, but today (5/25) it’s still not working.
Also, I had a shipment last week that went to OPA Locka, FL, on it’s way to me here, in VA. A 2-3 day detour, courtesy of the USPS.
Ordered May 8th, got track# on the 9th, showed up in the system on the 14th. This is just the bare MTG2 boards which were listed before they had the LEDs to go with them. I have a second order with the LEDs and a bunch of other crap placed 5/20, track# not active yet.
Opa Locka was the landing point for my Lightmalls order too. Not real impressed with SingPost so far. HK Post is much much quicker, usually less than 24 hours between their acceptance of the package and arrival in CA.
Hi,
I just checked back, and the one I had that went through Opa Locka was from an Ebay seller. Here’s part of the tracking:

The package arrived in my area on 5/12, and then took another day to get delivered to me on 5/13.
Yeah, I got a shipment stuck in ISC San Francisco. The postal service says Customs has it. Customs says they can't say if they have it or not until I get a letter from them, IF I get a letter from them. I'm debating whether or not I should take this up with the vendor or Paypal. It's not really their fault, but then again I don't think it should be my problem if it never gets to me.
Hi comfychair. I ordered some stuff from Fasttech which was shipped out on the 17 May via SINGPOST. It arrived on the 22 May! That’s 6 days…. the quickest I’ve ever experienced
Normally I’d wait around 9-14 days (including weekends)
LOL, you’re in Singapore!
Lucky you!
I ordered the same thing on the same day, did not received them yet either :( anyway, that was a mistake, should have waited a couple of days, they now have fully assembled emitters, MTG2 on a Noctigon mpcpb...
P.S. recently they (SGPO) shipped my package from FT to a wrong country! FT did an excellent job shipping it fast and they screwed everything up, package lost in Belarus!!! Of course FT solved this...
Hi,
How are orders from IOS moving nowadays?
I have a very small order from 6/17, with tracking #, and it’s been stuck at “Origin Post is Preparing Shipment” since 6/22, so I’m getting close to the Paypal dispute period. This order shipped via Singpost.
I also have another ordered that I placed via email, and got a tracking #, but the # is still not showing up at USPS.com, almost a week now. This order shipped via HKPost (supposedly).
I’m especially worried about the former order, because of the upcoming PP dispute deadline. I definitely don’t want to dispute, but then again, I did pay for the stuff :(…
I’ve emailed and PM’ed them, and they keep essentially saying “that’s normal”, but is it?
That’s only 5 days……sorry but how is that a problem with an overseas order? I’m lost here; also for disputes you have 45 days, I’m not sure how you’d be close to that many days; sounds like some facts are left out of this post, can you explain more?
Thanks
Hi,
The order (and Paypal payment) was made on 6/17 and today is 7/19, so over a month since the Paypal payment was made (something like 30+ days already), and the USPS tracking is still showing what I mentioned.
So I think that I have ~15 days to make a dispute with Paypal. After that, I can’t make a dispute.
That was what I meant.
Jim
Oppss your right, been a busy day here; time to get ready to file the dispute…I wish you the best.
In my opinion, Singapore Post takes their time to send packages. They may have a cargo plane once a week thing or whatever but ordering from Fasttech has taken much longer to arrive now than when they used HKPost. I even requested them to change my options so I can use HKPost again.
Here is what a typical timetable looks llke for me.
Ordering.
Electronic Info sent to Singapore Post - From a couple of hours to a day (marked at Fasttech as Shipped)
Packaging- takes about 1 or 2 days, sometimes more if they cant find get it from supplier
Shipment - it takes something like 2 or 3 days
Package arrives at SingPost - takes from 1 to 3 days
Package shipped to Overseas - About 5 to 9 days to arrive in my country (Japan). Another day for them to sort and send it to customs
After that customs holds it for 1 day max (sometimes a couple of hours) and it takes from 1 to 2 days for me to get my package
All in all, its been averaging about 9 to 15 days (including weekends) from ordering. It used to be like a week with HKPost.
So, yeah. I am not happy with SGPost. They may be cheaper, but I would pay a dollar or 2 more to receive my stuff faster.

In my case(s), actually for both orders I mentioned, I did pay the extra $2 USD that IOS charges for tracking. What that has bought me thus far is about a month+ of staring at USPS.com, with no status change at all :(…

What I meant was that I would prefer to pay more to have stuff sent via HKPost if I had the option. Singapore Post uses weird routes and I believe may make many stops to get to the destination. I mean, Unless when they say despatch (sic) they mean sending packages to a warehouse to fill a container or something it takes a long time and some packages may get lost and rerouted to you while you wait without any information (this is just speculation, btw). A month to arrive is DX bad.
It's bad enough that when you buy from Fasttech you have to wait until the package arrives in Singapore so they can start the tracking process and then they do a really bad job in updating.
Sorry, but I had to vent a little...
Oh and I once paid the extra 1 or 2 dollars for expedite or something and then bought other stuff the next day without paying extra. Both packages arrived the same day...
I’m waiting on three orders from two different sellers via Singapore post. The first one is at:
Information Received (This is not an acknowledgment of the physical receipt of the stated Registered Article)
since 12-DEC, and the other two aren’t even registering yet. Again, they are from two different sellers, both fairly reputable, so I don’t suspect the seller. Has anyone else had problems like this with Singapore post’s tracking recently?
