sipik sk68 clone for $6.16... :-)

never received my order of 4 lights from them. She said she would do a credit to my Paypal in 24 hours, and didn't. Appears they could care less about my business. Tomtop, or Tombottom?

The whole deal was kind of strange. The lights had been in "Chicago" awaiting customs clearance for a couple of days when out of the blue ebay sent me a message saying they have been held up and that I would receive a refund for the full amount. They even went so far as iniating a claim again Tomtop without me even requesting it.

Like Gary, I have received my refund yet Tomtop says we will get the lights "just wait another 10 days". It's no big deal at this point I was just hoping to see what all the hoopla was about.

I ordered mine a month ago and still haven't got it. Sending tomtop a message now.

Yep, SecaRob's story and mine are identical!

Gorann, so what date did you order yours?

-Garry

My first post so hope this helps someone.

I got the 3 mode Ultrafire clone from ntxmas, and a 'genuine' (as far as it looks) single mode from another seller.

The 'genuine' Sipik is a far better light. Ok it has just one mode, but that's OK for me.

Better build and brightness.

This seller has them in Black and silver.

UPDATE: Got an e-mail from Tomtop tonight. She said they didn't do a refund because they were tracking my order, it was still alive ":o) Anyway, the USPS tracking showed that my order (sent on Dec 10) is in my area. I should receive it tomorrow! I'm inspired to place another order ":o) At least I will have (4) nice Sipik clones at a cost of $25.07 Maybe this will give others a ray of hope.

Quick heads up, as they have a new coupon code. The SK-68 they have on their website currently sells for $7.36. If you use the coupon code "LED131", it's back to $6.62 with free shipping.

Got my TomTop SK68 within 10 days of ordered. I have had it for a couple weeks now, love it! Liked this light so much that I just bought three other ones from various sellers on eBay. Even one from a US seller.

These are the three I just bought.

Silver SK-68 clone from China, says Cree on one side, can't really make out whats on the other side

I will report back as I receive these.

@ Spot-On, thanks for posting and welcome to the forum. Nice to have another Homeboy around the place! I hope you're staying in touch with this thread, as you and I appear to be the only buyers so far of a ntxmas 68 clone and I'd very much like to swap notes with you. I wrote a report on my torch, along with another that arrived at the same time, in this thread: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/5581#comment-112493 Now I'm looking at the 'genuine' Sipik in your link, wondering if I should get one just to compare...
Btw, does your ntxmas torch tailstand?

As for TomTop, they've just replied to my 2nd email re the awol 68 which I ordered on Dec 7th. I may as well just paste their text directly:

I’m so sory to hear this, and we thought it had arrived to you. We indeed shipped it on 08/12/11 without tracking no, I suggest you can check in our web: http://erp.tomtop.com/check_order.php
then input your Paypal email address and eBay item number so that you can track information at this link.

Now, will you please help me check your address one more time, so we can make sure if the item has been shipped out to the correct address without any mistake then I will give you a good solution,do you agree?

Thank you so much for the patience you have given to us.
Best regards.

I'm really not sure I can be bothered with it; in any case just one more week and I'll be over Paypal's 45 day deadline. TBH, what with one thing and another, I'm getting kinda fed up with this whole Sipik clone saga. All I want is a fistful of decent three mode versions and I can die a contented man. Fate seems to be against me..

Still waiting, they replied to my email.

Its been about 30 days already, then they asked me to wait 6 more days.

Under that it says they wont be working from the 15th to the 30th, that means I wont be able to contact them before the 45 day cut of is up..

They said its because the post offices are busy in China and Australia but I have had other orders from China and Hong Kong come in less than 2 weeks after that order from tomtop.

Should I just wait the next 6 days like they said then claim?

I have only ordered from them once. Having said that, there are only a handful of businesses that I would take at their word. All others, I will generally file a PP dispute within 45 days just in case. If the item turns up, I will close the case and make sure that I do good by them. If I posted online about it, I will update that post to make sure googling the company doesn't turn up any unwarranted negative stuff. If I bought it on eBay, I will leave positive feedback. I know that disputes hurt vendors in the eyes of Paypal but I am not sure if closing one fully redeems the seller. In any case, those are the rules of the game. If you want to play by different rules you need to earn my trust first.

If I were you, I'd file a dispute (dispute != claim) which you can always close. I've had vendors I've bought a lot of stuff from refund me and when my order turned up, I gave them their money back. From their perspective, it makes sense because it's unlikely that I spend thousands of dollars over the years and then try to scam them out of a few bucks but it's still a risk. And that's the kind of people I try to give my business to. (Just to iterate: I've only placed one order with tomtop which was fine. I have zero history with them beyond that.)

I just can't believe how many Sipik Sk-68 clones are on ebay. I find myself wanting one of each variation to compare! But that would be useless as I would have no idea which one came from which ebay listing when they arrive.

Here is a silver 3 mode from US seller.

I ordered 4 SK clones from Tomtop with make offer option, 6$ a piece, hope they arrive "soon", my first flashaholics fix :D

@Lensman: My ntxmas light, like yours, sits at an angle when stood on it's tail.

The branded Sipik tailstands just fine but is single mode only.

My TomTop tailstands just fine as well. I really hope the other 3 I ordered today from various sellers will tailstand also.

I thought about ordered a 3-mode but decided against it because I hate strobes.

That silver 3-mode you link above Moto says "1 Mode" on the Ebay page in their chart. It also says Q3. I think this is the first US seller with a 3 mode I've heard about, but then again I was searching "Q5" previously.

BTW- my order from US seller "campingsurvivals" just shipped yesterday, that's two days after order (although I did place the order 5 PM).

-Garry

Yeah I was just going to make a note that it lists it as Q3. Buy one and let me know if its 3 mode! I have noticed some on ebay that list them as 2-mode, but they are really just referring to the zoom-in and zoom-out as modes. LOL

Damn! Sorry, but like an idiot I ordered another ntxmas 3 mode yesterday because of the ludicrous price hike at http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CREE-Q5-LED-Zoomable-300lm-Torch-Flashlight-Light-7W-/130626380594?pt=US_Flashlights&hash=item1e69f06332 and http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170758584629

There's something very fishy going on, because according to Paypal billing, all three Chinese sellers of these three mode clones (topicshop, ntxmas and eletrading) are the same person. Maybe that's why the price hike; they want every three-mode buyer to clear ntxmas's stock of these Ultrafire branded clones because maybe they're not as popular or well made and the seller wants rid of them. If that's the case I'm ashamed to say I fell for it..

@ motodeficient: "I just can't believe how many Sipik Sk-68 clones are on ebay. I find myself wanting one of each variation to compare! But that would be useless as I would have no idea which one came from which ebay listing when they arrive."

That's exactly what happened to me with my topicshop and ntxmas torches, and why I bought another one. It seemed the only sure way of finding out which of them sold me the solid tailstander. Clever, these Chinese sellers..

I'm wanting a 3-mode but i just don't know which seller would be reliable.
