I have an H03 on the way and will try the shorty tube from my A6 immediately. And maybe replace the LED with Nichia 219c CRI 90 later.
To get protected cells work you need the 37mm long Astrolux S1 tube
You need the s1 short tube either way, because the threads match well, unlike the A6 tube.
But itās a bit of a gamble which one they will send you when orderingā¦
Is it possible to shorten the battery tube (18650 to 18350) in Nitecore HC30?

That is the tube and it does not fit well enough to be waterproof. It fits well enough to be edcād i feel bit it is not flush.
I just tried 2 new a6 tubes and 2 new unanod a6 tubes and these dont work.
The 1 tube thats works was bought about 3 months ago the others that dont fit were bought about 6 weeks ago. All bought from bg.

Choomaā¦some people say that the short tube for BLF A6 is different to the short tube of astrolux S1.
Do you think sometimes they send blf A6 tube and other times Astrolux S1 tube?
I suppose you can not assure a link to buy the proper tube for HC30 and it will be a matter of ordering and trying (avoiding the nonanodized version)??
This is the one that fits somewhat.
I placed an order for 2 more of the same but they dont work.
I guess its like the lottery.
you can see how I modified the Tube to be waterproof,
later I got thinner o-rings(Convoy 365nm Nichia UV GITD :person_facepalming: ) than I had not on hand when doing the saw mod do the trick as well
I can confirm that I ordered an A6 tube, but the lengh of it definately points out its an S41 tube
and luckily this fits the Skilhunt
the Astrolux short tube is 2 or 3 mm longer than A6 so protected 18350 fit barely
I can also confirm that the S42 short and long tube fits the skilhunt

I can confirm the Astrolux S41 tube fits and has the right lengh for protected and unprotected cells
also those thin green o-rings from Convoy UV lights fit

Isnāt an 18350 pretty close to 14500 in capacity? Just could get something like the TH20?
The Aspire 18350 has 1200-ish mAh. The 14500ās have max 8-900mAh I have seen.
I just found this threadā¦ strange, I also made this mod long time ago, but my protected Keepower couldnāt fit with none of my two S1 tubes (slightly different, one is 37,0 mm, the other 36,something). But nevermind, those protected batteries are useless now with Aspires
I know this is an older thread, but the last reply was only a month ago. Did you find anything cheaper that fits the Skilhunt? Iām thinking about upgrading my headband as well.
Are you talking about the headband? Personally, I use this one, much lighter than the original one, which I find too bulky. (the photo is of the H02, but I still use it with my H03)
The fit is not very tight, but with the short tube is okā¦ the fit is too loose only with the with H03 and its original 18650 tube.
you can find it for 1 or 2 usd on many shops on aliexpress (including simonās shop from convoy)
I use the same headband with my H03 shorty.
I reused the stock headband for my HR20 which has pretty weak holder, but with skilhunt band it is good.
Ah, I was asking about the previous user who bought a Armytek Tiara C1 headband. My post somehow dropped its reply. Itās only $3, but shipping is $9. It looks easier to use than the stock headband. Iāll keep an eye out for those headbands, though. But I likely wonāt do the shorty mod.
