Edit: Thanks for the clarification all. The options are Cool white, Neutral, or high CRI, with the high CRI being the samsung LED.
From the Skilhunt specs, it looks like the cool white uses a 6500k Cree XML LED. The neutral white uses a either a 5000k or 4000k Samsung LH351D 90 CRI LED? It’s unclear which it is, and confusing why it’s not called out more clearly. The sites that sell it describe it as Cree LED even though they’re selling the NW version. Does the H04 in NW come in different LED’s or are those sites just using the wrong description of the LED?
I like high CRI, and was leaning towards the neutral white. I have a zebralight in neutral that I love. Good decision going with the neutral white H04? Or are there any weird surprises?
Example: when selecting NW, it’s still says a cree:
They don’t mention “NW” for the LH351D, when choosing the LED on their site the wording is “High CRI (samsung LH351D 90CRI)” while “Neutral white” is the XM-L2
So in this sentence : LED: CREE XM-L2 U4 CW 6500K or NW 5000K / Samsung LH351D 90 CRI 4000K
I take it that the LH351D is only in 4000K
The current specs for the H04 are confusing… if listed just as “neutral white” or “cool white” those versions are Cree LEDs. Some sources say XM-L2, but some say XP-L2. Most of the current reviews I could find said XM-L2. The Samsung LH351D option is labeled “High CRI,” I do see they list it as 4000k, but Skilhunt has never used a 4000k LH351D. The M150 and M200 with that LED have been 5000k. Kind of confusing, might need to research further.
Skilhunt never used xp-l in H series flashlights, it was always the good old XM-L2. Most recently, they announced the CRI version of the H04 which will be available on the lh351d 4000K.
I received the light since I originally asked this question. It’s definitely a neutral tint. I do like it. I’m not sure if it’s a LD351D. I have other LD351D LED’s (from Wurkkos), but they’re white.
