Head is empty, it have thin shelf for mcpcb and that is bad for heat dissipation
Well, but it have good 2+1 cooper mpcb with direct thermal patch. Swapped leds to 3500K, shorted pin and now it is simple triple.
Head is glued but it is easy to unscrew. There is silver paste under mpcb.
Yes, Sofirn use same design too. Here is different situation because of triple TIR is low profile. But still they could have made a thicker shelf. Now it is possible to store and hide some illegal stuff in that space
I’m considering buying a H200 and removing the TIR optic to make it a mule. I’m pretty new to modding. Can you forsee any problems with doing this? I assume there is a glass piece seperate from the original TIR that I can use to seal it after removing the TIR.
I already own a H04, but it looks like the PCB/LED is closer to the lens/opening on the H200, so would theoretically suit mule conversion better.
Also, if you don’t mind me asking, how easy it is swap the LED’s? I’m got a good quality variable temperature soldering iron, but no hot air gun/heat plate.
