Thanks! I look forward to your tunnel shots.
HAH. Another fellow New Hampsherite. I’m in Manchester, myself!
What’s the story on these now? Nothing on CNQG and no one reviewed it. Seems like it dropped thru the cracks. Sold out, lemon, what gives?
I’d like one!
Rich
I also want one, but I’d love to see a review or something before buying…
Slightly bigger than the SRK and 3 times brighter, should be a spectacular flooder.
Appear to be in stock here:

I’ve just been too busy to do a WORTHWHILE/Proper review for this Super/Great light.
My son got what we thought was a SUPER deal on a dinged Generac 14kw Backup generator and then I learned just how BIG a deal and how much time and dollars are needed to do a proper installation for one of these beasts with a proper LP gas hookup(100 ft ditch) and 14 breaker transfer switch and all the inspections and tests. Then Snow came to New Hampshire. Now the pressure tank on the well is about to blow. SO . Forget the review for now, it’s way down on my list. If someone wants to do a review, “Go for it.”

Like Clint/Blondie said to Tuco in TGTBTU, “You see, in this world there’s two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig. ”
That’s me digging.

However, I have been using the light with the EXCELLENT 3400ma batteries from KumaBear for about two months now and the light and batteries have worked FLAWLESSLY. The SkyRay XY-600 is built like a Brick S#!t House and is the BEST walking light I have ever owned. It will satisfy 99% of most users needs for night walks or most other uses. I am 100% happy with the thunb switch location on the handle and almost never use my TRJ-12 or –18 for the nightly walks. It’s not throwing out 8000 lumens, but it projects a nice/usefull real bright beam. I’ll eventually get to the review.
Plus, Monroe approves of the XY-600, for our nightly walks:

My Generac (natural gas) cost less than $4000, new.
Installation, etc was another $8000, and it used less than 20 feet of above ground gas pipe.
And it does exactly what I expected it to do… we haven’t had a real power failure since it went in…
Received mine yesterday from Manafont, it was my first buy from them. light arrived quickly and works fine, i agree with the previous posts about build quality and machining. Problem is that the output is less than half of my skyray king. In all my years of Flashoholism this is my single biggest disappointment. Lesson learned, never buy a light that is not properly reviewed on here. Well consider this my $100 contribution to the forum and community. Do not get this light if you are expecting to out shine your friends, this puts out a little more light than my smaller, lighter, 4 sevens Mailstorm s12 and way less than my skyray king so maybe 1000-1200 real lumens. What do you think of my chances at getting Manafont to fix this ? any ideas for modifications to make it work ?
Thats weird, the black SRK is advertised as 2500 lumen and does almost that, someone said 2380 lumen…so why would the same company advertise 8000 lumen and get as little as 1200 lumen?
If you wanna sell it-and won’t have to return it then-let me know-I’d come up with some kind of AMC7135 mod for it.
Just tried Manafont now and last night… the site won’t load either.

A little update, I took current and voltage readings yesterday:
Current on high 3.9 A
Voltage: 2.9V
Emmiter lumens @ 0.65A per die x6 = 260x6 =1500 emmiter lumens or around 1000 OTF considering the small reflectors etc… wich is about what i figured when comparing it to my lights that actually get and report actual OTF lumens.
On the good side the emmiters are actually glued to the body of the head which should result in good cooling if the LED’s were driven hard, but the wiriing is so thin that i could only get a max of 5A with a direct connection to the batteries. (the swiitch in the tail may also limit current)
I have attached a few photos for reference

notice the skookum reflector plate and reflectors, these are solid aluminum !

driver removed, you can see right away this thing is not rated for 10 Amps as expected

Notice the LED’s are glued to the body of the head, that’s good for cooling. The adhesive looks like silicone sealant and not a real thermal paste. Also notice how thin the wiring is, definitely the thinnest wire i have seen used on a high current flashlight.
Wow, a torch that has it’s output on the side of it…and it’s nothing close to the advertised output
I recently received my SR XY-600 from Wallbuys and pulled it apart - looks identical to what is posted above. There's plenty of room inside the driver cavity and I was thinking about doing one of TJ's multi-AMC7135 setups (posted by Old Lumens here) to drive the 6 LEDs in a 3S2P configuration. I'm dumb when it comes to this stuff so here is a rendering of what I plan. It's basically the same setup, except each of the 3 boards (master and 2 slaves) would have 4 additional AMC7135 chips piggybacked onto the back side for a total output of 350 x 12 = 4200mA on high. Each driver would control 2 LEDs wired in parallel so each LED would see ~2.1A.
Credit to Techjunkie (TJ) for original idea
Just the thought of doing all that wiring makes my head spin. I am also concerned whether the switch could handle that much current (estimated 12.6A). In post #38 of that same thread, TJ offers another wiring solution that bypasses that switch altogether for the high current modes, thereby reducing resistance and any chance of frying the switch due to current overload. Then there's the current draw on those 4 x 18650's. I don't think they would be able to handle the load unless I used IMRs.
This is a nicely designed light with great machining. It's too bad the output is so weak. A mod like this could really breath life into this little monster.
Any thoughts?
having a reputation as the gadget guy at work and also having the brightest flashlight in the entire Airport (Skyray King) I was looking forward to blow everybody away with my newly acquired SKY RAY XY-600…
The build quality and finish looks the part and expectations was at maximum…. OOOHHH…. WHAT an disappointing when the new set of freshly charged Keepower 3100mAh batteries was inserted and I proudly walked towards my first aircraft to do a “walk-around” in the night wearing my blacked out welding glasses to prevent retina burns only to discover that this beautiful light is not only slightly but substantially dimmer than my good old SkyRay King :_(
Bottom line - I feel I just threw $91 + €20(tax) in the toilet ![]()
So please everybody… I there is a genius whom could make up an upgrade kit for this in the very near future I will hold on to it otherwise this baby is going back on ebay - shortly.
Side-note: anybody compared the SkyRay King to the FandyFire L3 Cree XM-L T6 4-Mode 5000-Lumen 7-LED Flashlight
