I have a Maha MH-C9000 battery charger for my AA and AAA eneloop cells.
I also have a Nitecore I4 and a Klarus C8. I use these for my 18650 batteries - the C8 also does 26650’s.
I like the way the Maha tells me the actual charged capacity of the cells.
I am wondering if there is a similar charger, but that:
a) supports 18650 and 26650 cells; and
b) supports as minimum of 4 cells but preferably 8 being simultaneously charged?
I’d like to check if the rated power capacity on my various batteries is anything like the actual capacity they are holding….
beware of the mAh value. If it comes from a discharge test, it’s precise indicator of the capacity of the cell. If it comes from a charge test, is not so precise (still better than nothing).
Opus or SKYRC MC3000.
2 x Liitokala Engineer 500”s if you want to be able charge/discharge 8 cells at a time.
Can be had for US $20 on offer at times.
I have 2 & prefer them to my OPUS.
Supports AA,AAA, C, 10440, 14500, 16340/CR123, 18350, 16650,18500, 18650, 26500,26650 & LiCoO2, LiMn, LiFePO4 & NIMH chemistries.
On “NOR” test it reads the discharged ma”s so a more accurate capacity reading than chargers that read the charged ma”s taken.
Yes the LI-500 leaves batteries in a fully charged state after the NORmal test.
The FAST test does just the discharge/charge capacity test, only measuring the charged capacity.
The NOR test does both, charge/discharge/charge.
NOR = normal full capacity test, measuring the discharge capacity.
I love my Li-500, its the best charger I own, and I’ve got many brand name expensive ones.
I bought the Foxnovo F-4S a while ago for the charge & discharge rate to sort cells from used laptop pulls.
No idea what you guys may think of that model but it has served its purpose for me so far. Has 0.5A & 1A rates charge & discharge/charge. Will display capacity after discharge. Can use it in my Car or home. Would be nice if it could discharge to storage voltage, but I have to use an RC balance charger I have for that. But it was $40 and I had it in 2 days…
- Input: AC 100-240V 50/60Hz, DC 12V 2.5A
- Output: DC 4.2±0.02V/1.48V 0.5A±30mAx4 1.0A±50mAx4
Yikes, the SKYRC is $99 at GB, while the Liitokala Lii-500 is $23.40 and the BT-C3100 is $38.77.
Have the BT, so might try the Liiokala at that price. Couldn’t be any noisier than BT.
SKYRC outa my budget.
I also got a XTAR VC4 recently. USB powered only, 4 batts, all chemistries and types. Nice interface
Does give an mah reading at end of charge, but doesn’t have a refresh mode.
So read the fine print on chargers with more than 2 bays. Some of them steal power and charge at half the rate because they are sharing power and not fully independent.
I own a Nitecore D2 which is great as a charger. Allows me to charge the smaller batteries at 300mA rather than 500mA. But now that the price for the Lii-500 has dropped I want to buy one to test my battery capacity. So who has the best price with the BLF discount? I want a real one andnot a fake or knock off.
