Anyway me and the old man went to get our small game license today. Ofc they were out of 22s but in the glass case in the outdoors counter. There was a Surefire M3. Kinda chuckled at the price tag. Pointed it out to my old man. He didnt even look at the price tag. Anyways next to it was some off brand tactical with those pressure switch for about the same price I think 367, if I can recall. Anyways I’m glad Walmart is ramping up the competition in our local area, with these Coast & Stanley flashlights. Besides mags only streamlight brand is there and some of them are like 50-300 lumens etc…
Anyways I always find it very unpleasant to shop at walmart. Especially electronics or anything that is over the 200 dollar price tag as it sometimes makes you look like some bloat or something or like they don’t want you to own/buy it? Or is it just me I have a long history of getting smirks and looks from the past. Such as buying a dvd/vhs combo for under 90 bucks about 5 years ago. A dehumidifer on sale I think 10 bucks cheaper than your local farm & fleet. 55 inch HDTV etc… Cashing my unemployment checks there too was very awkward too. Considering I probably got more than them in 2 weeks.
I love Walmart prices on most things, especially on grocery staples and milk, it is great that they sell guns and ammo, which of course stirs up the usual crowd.
In some major cities they are not allowed to compete against other supermarkets, how that can be done in America is an indication of how much we have become unrecognizable since the 1960s.
Some people prefer to buy their Arugula at Whole foods.
When I visited the United States a few weeks ago my group dropped by a random Walmart to grab some supplies. I naturally gravitated towards the flashlight section, and my jaw dropped when I saw their prices for the incan mags. I emptied their shelves of mini-mags at something around $7.50 a pop
I live in an area with a depressingly bad economy, lower incomes, many residents with lower IQ levels, etc. . . Our local Walmart is one of the nicest I've ever seen. Walmart is considered a decent place to work around here too. I'll gladly shop where I can save money, whether its Walmart or somewhere else.
I’am not going to get in to a debate about this subject. I would suggest you do some research in to just how many things Walmart influences and its practices. This page is a little old but it is still happening today, probably with even higher numbers than listed there.

They are the Largest Importer in the US by far. Ask yourself what US based company benefited from NAFTA the most and how it became law.
I’am not trying to stir up political debate from this post, just hoping people will inform themselves. Things are not always as they seem.
Was it the Augusta, ME Walmart? We have groups of Canadians down in that shopping center constantly. Me and my fiance were at Kohls there one day, and some nice older lady came up and gave us $40 in Kohls cash and said "I am not from around here and will not be able to use this". Still have the shoes that nice older lady bought for me
My parents’ families are from the Armstrong/Butler/Clarion counties region and the way that some of the boroughs there have gone to sh!t in the past 15 years is depressing. It seems like all the younger folk moved out, their parents stayed put. There are literally several abandoned houses and many derelict vehicles sitting, rotting in a town of <1000 residents. Twenty years ago the population was several times that and much, much younger. Today parts of the town are literally being reclaimed by nature. Western PA is beautiful though and I love the history of the land near the Allegheny. I’m from Maine but am a yinzer at heart.
The Butler, PA Walmart is one of the nicest I’ve seen, LOL. They even have a wide variety of Maglite models (even some of the newer ones), but no Surefire from what I saw.
I buy plenty at Walmart, much of it made in USA or same as all stores. We have a Whole Foods next to the Walmart, and its funny to shop in one and look at same items like apples in the other store and they have the same UPC sticker. I only buy Dole bananas, but never an issue with any from Walmart.
Battery prices didn’t impress me, but I tend to buy online which no retailer touches except in the odd sale. I’ve looked at a few of the flashlights, but got better deals at Home Depot.
Weird how the Walmart is always sold out on ammo. Maybe they just say they carry it to annoy some?
Wallmart has a major problem. Its target market is now to broke to shop at walmart, and it knows it. Bankers crippled the world, and maybe we will finaly see some cange Link
Not to hate add politics or anything really bad here sorry guys, if the tangent sounds bad. But just saying seeing this Surefire M3 that’s a 2009 model? for 300+ bucks still is really “confusing” for lack of a better word.
I think the original post was something about flashlights in Wal-Mart. Hope y'all get back on topic of flashlights.
I have never seen anything like a Surefire in Wal-Mart. Mine has a huge selection of $5 plastic flashlights, a few Maglites (which the prices keep going up on), many of the Coleman flashlights (they are expensive as heck) and lots of spotlights. Nothing that I would actually buy though. I go to Home Depot for Solitaires and I usually buy on-line for 2C or 2/3D Maglites, as someone always seems to have a sale, even if it's wal-mart on-line.
All those Coleman lights are more expensive than I would ever buy, but they keep adding more. I imagine department heads can pick from a selection, of what they want to stock, so I figure that person is a camper, hence the Coleman stuff everywhere.
Wow! A Mini Mag in Wal-Mart ! I have never seen one in our Wal-Mart PERIOD! Boots won't let me go to Wal-Mart anyway. She banned me after I latched on to a guy that ran over her with a basket in the check-out line.
Where else can you get groceries, new underwear and socks, a battery in your watch, an oil change, a haircut, an eye exam, a flu shot, lunch, and your prescriptions filled all on one visit?
Over the last several years I’ve taken several long road trips, driving multiple times across Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona into SoCal. Wal-Mart has become our go-to stop for snacks, supplies, and even gasoline where available. (Although it annoys me to have to load a Shopping card to get the 3 cent discount on fuel.)
We found it to be consistent in providing what we need at fair prices. I can’t really say I’ve had a bad experience.
Sure, I’ve seen my share of strange folks, but hey, that’s half the fun!
Worst experience: Probably Green Valley, Arizona. Average age of shoppers must have been 88. Number of shoppers in motorized carts: seemed like dozens. Only went once.
Best customer service: When HP discontinued the Touchpad tablets I called the Nogales, AZ store electronics dept. and they held one for me until I could get there.
