Sofirn C01S SST-20 4.000K 95CRI / Low-High version available again!

so we must wait months until the hi-lo versions sells out before they will consider making new ones with low first or ? thats kinda weird to me… IF i was rich i would buy up it all and give away to people here on blf lol…

It makes sense from a business perspective - produce the new ones and sell them and have the old ones lying around, effectively stock wastage - or wait until they’re gone (ROI achieved), then make all the new ones.

Doesn’t mean we have to like it  So tell your friends and family about them!

Just gave a red h-l one to my sister, she was extremely happy with it.

One more down. :expressionless:

What does not make sense from a business perspective is producing the hi-lo version in the first place

In all honesty it probably does not make business sense especially if they aren’t the same buyers for both.

Just cause a company makes a dud or over estimates demand doesn’t mean they shouldn’t move on to more profitable and better things. I bet they are more concerned with other higher margin items and just dont care about this (look at the Q8 extension tubes for another good example). Everyone and their brother has a clone AAA light I bet they make almost nothing on these.

At the time they really wanted to have an AAA twisty in their line-up so they do care about the C01S, but you may be right that there is hardly a profit. Perhaps for most of their clients the mode order is not an issue so they wait for the stock to steadily empty itself and then can afford to make a new batch.

The hi-lo was introduced first and is still unsold while the lo-hi sold out in two days.

That’s true, but they need to work out the cost of wasting the existing stock vs moving onto the L/H and ROI on that. As time goes on there’s a tipping point of cost vs reward, and hopefully that’s soon.

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong. But lo-hi was only 200 units and one color, while hi-lo is 3 colors, likely each made in larger quantities.

Most of the fusspot fellows were taken for a ride back then in my opinion. Maybe I am biased ;-) as others say. Or maybe I represent the frankness others do not want to see. O:)

Can someone explain how having lo-hi versions produced is going to prevent the hi-lo stock from being sold?

:-)

Looks like red sold out on Aliexpress. Still quite a number of blue and black, however.

They have a sale coming up so maybe they will shift a load then.

Like barkuti says ..make the drivers Low/High available ASAP

and sell it at a reasonable rate // Include it only with the sale of a HIGH/LOW light and watch all the modders scoop up drivers they want and at the same time clear out the lights you want to see gone .

No one on BLF is asking for something for nothing but one hand washes the other .

Make the lights 8$ and the drivers $2

I'll take a red and a blue and 5 drivers

then

I'll be back to buy a couple Low /High lights and want more drivers

Easy !!

I’ve kinda been waiting for low / high, but tbh I’d buy one today if it had a medium mode and more if it was low / med / high.

I’d buy a few SP10(S) drivers too if they were available as I find their firefly way too low and the next level way too bright.

I sent an email to Sofirn Customer Service a couple of days ago asking them if they had any update on when the “Default mode low” C01S will be available again. This was their reply:

"The Default mode low are on the production plan this days and it will sooner. But the specific time has not come out yet.

Thank you,"

Sounding hopeful! :)

LOL, clear as mud eh?

Can some one confirm Sofirn C01S and Sofirn C01 BLF both use same driver?

They don’t: the C01S drives a power led at several hundred milli-amps, and the C01 drives a 5mm led at 25mA.

Thanks for a quick reply djozz

another word…… Sofirn C01S driver cant be used as vampire light?

Here my knowledge is a bit limited. But what I suspect: the C01S driver has some MCU to make the modes, that chip uses a bit of current (the Attiny13 for example uses about 2mA) so when the battery can not deliver 2mA anymore the light will stop. A true vampire light has no MCU and can work on lower currents than 2mA.

But there is people around who know more about drivers than me.
