Sofirn C8F host. 21700 C8F Available

The Liitokala cells are still great though. Not the best, but still good for long runtime medium power lights(30-35W).

Yes especially for the price. Also I’m seeing now it appears it’s the aliexpress sellers that omit specifications that would give a better clue about it’s real performance…

Liitokala’s website does show “Discharge: 40A Max Continuous” but also lists “Discharge current 15A”
A bit confusing to say the least but at least they show 15A power.

Those aliexpress sellers are probably not Liitokala themselves as I had thought, just using misleading store names: “liitokala Factory Store” and “liitokala Official Store”

Well, now you can be sure a Lii-40A powered C8F will output about the same light as a 30Q powered C8F, but for longer. All else being equal, of course, which isn't the case as the 21700 unit will supposedly enjoy marginally better cooling.

Cheers ^:)

You took ground fellow. :-)

Certain chinese fellows do not seem afraid of outright lieing LoL.

AliExpress sellers can change their store name. Their univocal identifier is their store number. Besides web address :-D bullsh1ts all stores can be accessed with https://www.aliexpress.com/store/STORE_NUMBER. By the way, if you click that link you will enter “liitokala 0fficial Store”, also known in the past as “AM battery Store” and “Colaier Direct Sales Store”. Bought a few times from them, got fake Samsung ICR18650-30B cells the last one when they were still named “AM battery Store”; their 30Q and 25R cells were good. And out of 2 shared shipments consisting of 4x protected ICR18650-26F cells, the unwrapping of my 4 cells resulted in a couple medium discharge and capacity units (probably LG M26 or some FST 2600mAh) and a couple high discharge and capacity ones too (Samsung :-D 30Q).

Cheers :-)

I think some people are getting the name of the Liitokala Lii-40A confused (maybe even the person that wrote the store description). It is just a coincidence there is an A at the end. The 40A is just the name based on the size. Just like the 50A 26650 is 5000mah, the 18650 22A is 2200mah and the 18650 35A is 3500mah.

Yep. People are thinking these are the real ratings of the cells.

I would have loved a 40A continuous 4000mAh 21700 though, or a 50A continuous 5000mAh 26650.

3800!!!

Huh?

Lol that was in response to DB Custom modded C8F that he got 3800 lumens!!!

Yes, but from 3 XP L2s, which are known to have even worse tint shift than XPLs.

Okay, that was from mid February. No wonder I couldn’t remember. Lol

Mine does 4550 lumens at start from 3x XP-L2. And draws 16,5A.
O don’t remember if I used samsung 30Q or LG HG2 battery.

Who's Mone? Is she beautiful? :-D

Nice figures. I do not honestly care much about high peak numbers and no high colour rendering emitters. The former because I prefer a more sustainable output and the latter because our eyes and minds prefer the spectral power dristributions we've grown with and adapted to.

By the way, did anyone tried 3x LH351D 4000K CRI90+ emitters on this one?

Cheers ^:)

She has big fingers and tiny phone screen

Is there an estimate as to when this new 21700 host is expected to be for sale. I just did my first C8F build last night. It was so easy compared to another triple build I’m still working on.

I’m going to order another C8F host if the 21700 version isn’t going to be available soon.

Sofirn is the only flashlight I can afford.

Not true. The market is plenty. Go look at (for example):

https://www.banggood.com

https://www.gearbest.com

And many others…

Shhhh! He might end up buying an AT01 for cheap…

Cheers :-)

Thanks for the supportive banter. I am waiting for the Sofirn C8F in 21700. My current high output big-ticket-item light is the original Jetbeam TH20 “3450 lumen” that I bought on special from Andrew and Amanda. I see the next generation of 21700 powered flashlights as the only next step upgrade to what I have and to spend the money that I don’t have. I’m thinking of a multi-cell 21700 paired with XHP70.2 but that could be years from now.

So for now, my “3450 lumen” Jetbeam TH20 will have to do. 21700 is really making me feel like everything available today is not worth buying, as 21700 is just about to blow everything away over the next 5 to 10 years?
