Great review. I think I share Khun Weerapat’s sentiment (at the end) that a bit warmer spot emitter could be more pleasant and could match better the flood CCT in the spot+flood mode.

I don’t have this headlamp yet - petitioning for the 18350 version presently :⁠-⁠), but just recently had a chance to compare two lights with the SST40 emitters in 6000K and 5000K and I like the latter more than the former.

Will the short tube from a SP40 not work on this new headlamp?

According to this post, probably not as the threads will not be compatible. In another post @Sofirn shown some enthusiasm to make one available but I haven’t heard from them since.

Upcoming Sofirn HS42 - triple channel 18650 headlamp

I recently got this light and remembered this comment. The head and the tailcap can be removed, on mine at least based on previous comments. Unless this is somehow a new production batch. Sadly generic sofirn and wurkkos 18350 tubes won’t work since the threads on the head(v-shaped) and tailcap(square shaped) are different. [image] [image] [image] [image]

Thanks for the info. It is really a shame Sofirn made this light with different thread types. Oh well, I don’t really need it anyhow (as I have a lot of headlamps already) so I’ll wait to see how this model evolves. I wasn’t too keen on the 6000k SST40 anyhow.
