Sofirn IF19 with 18650 battery tube

I just bought a sofirn IF19 and noticed that they have a tube to use an 18650 battery.

Does any know if this works and what problems might occur using the 18650 battery? The tube is made by sofirn but I don’t want to assume that it’s OK to do.

I thought I would get some opinions before I order the 18650 tube.

I have this setup – Works perfect, just as intended ---- The crazy part is the IF22A is just a little bigger, uses a 21700 cell, more throw and doesn’t hot as fast

The nice thing about the IF19 is its small size with the 18650 cell. I would get an IF22A if I wanted longer run time.

Thanks. I got this one because it fits into a spot on my emergency bag. And I have a lot of 18650 batteries, so I can use one in an emergency if I need too. I thought about the 22A because there’s a 25% discount right now on Amazon but the IF19 was 30% off and I have a lot of 18650 & 18350 batteries compared to 1 21700. The extension tube is only $3 but I was wondering if the SC18 tube would work?

Run time wasn’t a consideration for what I needed. Size and the versatility to use my 18650 batteries. The 22A is only $4 more on Amazon right now.

No, the head doesn’t come off the SC18 - it’s an integrated tube. Many Sofirn/Wurkkos tubes are interchangeable between lights, though. I dont have the light but I imagine the standalone tube they sell will fit the IF19.

The tube on the sofirn site is made for the IF19. I am going to order it tomorrow. I just wish there was a U.S. seller so I wouldn’t have to wait as long to get it.

Ah, then safe to say it will fit

Those shipping times can be annoying but at least it’s cheap. I tend to let myself forget what I ordered so it’s a fun little surprise when it arrives a couple weeks later.

I tend to forget that I ordered something from China and I have to remember what it was. Except it’s not on purpose lol.

How reliable is the tracking information that Ali or sofirn gives you. I have ordered stuff through ebay from China but not from these other 2 sources.

I think the tracking is petty accurate with most orders, but there are extra steps that you don’t get with say an Amazon order, like customs.

I’m not totally sure how it works, but it seems orders will first go to a processing center in the US then get mailed to the final destinations. I imagine a shipping container with hundreds of people’s orders, and that needs to be broken up and mailed to each customer once it arrives in the destination country.

1 Thank

Do any of you know if the battery that comes with the IF19 is a protected 18350?

Just a regular button yop
