【Sofirn products optimization 】 Let's Upgrade These Together!

No idea, but you think maybe buck+fet?

That would explain the cooked xhp50.3 hi’s in the sr32. 4S2P battery, maybe those are 12V 50.3’s and it’s got a 14.4V nominal battery pack with buck for the low modes using a direct drive turbo? With 4S2P 21700’s? Ya thatll fry some things. I could be way off though, I don’t own an imalent

That was not enough thermal paste.

4S li-ion is probably too wide a voltage range to realistically use buck+FET.

With the 50.3’s specifically though I think it could work, because they operate in a pretty wide voltage range too.

Koef measured the Vf on the 6V version jumping >2V from turn on to max output. And it was at 7.7V then. Assuming the 12V is just as high, 14-15V on turbo, pulling tons of current, you could potentially direct drive those with 4S I think, no?

But it could definitely be a boost driver too, idk. The only imalent I’ve ever used is the LD70, that thing drives a 70.2 off a single 18350, so imalent definitely makes boost drivers.

Can Sofirn or Wurkkos consider to take one of these multi Leds keychain lights and made improvement? btw hold the price low since they are on sale for 4$ on Ali with choice deal.
There are a lot of variant, even with dual colors as primary led.
Time to mod them as adjustable CCT!

Just release the C01S again with low-high mode and high CRI emitter. SST20, LH351D, or best yet, 519A. Those keychain lights you’ve shown have awful batteries that can’t be replaced. Not everyone needs a super bright light.

7 Thanks

Although I modified a flash kit to match up with the unique Q8+ flash pads, you really want to go with what everyone else uses for the 3 pads, as mentioned by Lumenheir.

1 Thank

Super bright? LoL
They can’t hold above 60LM for long but are innovative, small and lightweight as keychain light should be.
If they broke not a big loss for the cost.

I got for 2$ the “M300”
Good UI with memory, well spaced levels from 1 Lm, no pwm.
Hardware is press fit.
Modded with High Cri Led, 30° Tir and improved heatsink.
I like a lot

A different kind of suggestion @Sofirn: how difficult would it be to publish honest runtime graphs with all new models?

It’s not without at least one semi-precedent - semi, as those Fenix plots use, intentionally or not, royally messed-up scales on the axes…

That’s the whole point. I want a light with a simple interface, two or three modes, mechanical switch, and doesn’t get drained super quick. I want something simple that anybody can pick up and use, so I can give them away. If it’s small, people can throw them on their keychains and forget about them until they need them. Nothing simpler than twist to turn on, twist to turn off, and do it quickly to switch modes.

Well, I have C01S and twist lights have also their cons.
After some head rotations driver pads start to be dirty & marked, need to be clean to avoid failure contacts

If C01S back I suggest to made thicker contacts driver and different modes bright like 0.1 - 7 - 70 lm max with reversible UI

Maybe small soldered brass buttons on the driver instead of just using the PCB surface… Much more wear resistant.

Yeah, even on negative pads

  1. How about a new 4680/4695 tube for both light?
2 Thanks

For my taste HS10 need driver upgrade:

• Add sublumen level <0.1 lm (with direct access)

•Levels are too wide space, add one more like 8 lm

• Adjust ramping speed.
It jump too fast from the begin making difficult find the right low brightness, while from medium ramp it rises too slowly.

• No more pwm, if possible add regulation

• Parasitic current Is too high.

• A bit more flood lens

Thank you for the idea. I noticed that last year. But there is no way we can make it better but sell at several dollars! That’s impossible mission! Man, I am not Tom Cruise

1 Thank

What price do you accept if we have to raise the price after making it?

Oh cmon, it’s a
“mission impossible” use same driver components of sc21mini, that was good and sold at ~ same price?
Plus adjust ramp speed at star and add firefly mode?

After all we are talking of optimization like thread suggest

3 Thanks

@Sofirn thank you for taking the time to reach out to the community for suggestions. I will echo a few people here who have requested an rgb switch light, controlled by Anduril, along with a buck/boost controlled output. I think that would be a real hit and revitalize the sp36.

I have been looking for a light that has anduril, voltage indicating rgb switch, an efficient controller, and charges via USB for quite a long time. Besides the Fireflies lights, no one else seems to be making a light with all of these features. The sp36 would be a great candidate.

4 Thanks

Thank you for your great idea, we are very interested, but how could rgb switch led indicates the voltage? furthermore, we are redesigning the SP36

2 Thanks

This feature is built into Anduril2 already:
