Well, it looks like that oddball apple/oranges-like “lantern vs thrower” graphic that Sofirn produced has an explanation – they’ve attempted to cross breed the two:
A sphinx cat light of sorts, with a completely smooth body.

Im loving it other than no high cri or warmer option and a moonlight, if its cheap enough ill probably grab it.
Wow, that hybrid is definitely interesting!
I don’t know if I want one yet, but it is different.
It’s $36 before using discounts on the Sofirn site.
Sofirn SC03
I’m just about to buy a Q8 Plus and a SP33S from that site but I’m going to pass on this. I just don’t think the lantern style is efficient- it has too much glare.
While it’s good to see them trying new things, I can’t say I’m a fan of its form factor, or the LT1 Mini either. Or the complete lack of any sort of body features to promote grip.
Admittedly, I have no experience with either one, but tail standing is a risk in any case, neither is stable as I’d probably prefer, nor do they have magnetic caps to help mitigate tip over risk, AFAIK.
And for a multi-purpose light, it lacks the power bank feature, which some more narrowly-focused models do have, which seems backwards to me.
Although unspecified, it looks like an SST40, plus whatever unknown sources power the lantern portion.
For a dual-role light, I’d be much more intrigued if they cloned something like the PX30LC2-DR.
In what’s already a niche segment, it’s going to have to have enough appeal to separate itself from a normal thrower, and a $2 diffuser.
