Sofirn SC21 mini

sometimes the description is not up to date, that is why it is so helpful that people here do their own tests and share info like SaniPE is doing

Thank you both

afaik, that build is older than the new lower lows from SammysHP that are part of:
anduril.2022-10-12.sofirn-sc21-pro.hex

And Im guessing the button light LVP is not in the 2022-02-08 model 0614 (sofirn-sp36-t1616) build

but it IS Anduril 2… good progress :+1:

for people interested in learning how to reflash to add Lower Lows and button light LVP:

here is a great video from LiquidRetro, demonstrating a 30 second process, using an Android phone:

requires a flashing kit w pogo pin adapter to fit SC21 Pro, from gchart

and fwiw, I just received a Red and a Green SC21 Pro and reflashed to the firmware w lower lows and LVP. Im getting ready to decide what LED to install. Available for purchase with your choice of any 519a and 219b LED I have in stock. Sales info in this ad [SOLD] 4000K TS10 and 5800K TS10

With Version 212212181614 is the lower low than 0.2LM recorded in Anduril 1 ?

I think No, I think also No LVP for button aux.

Thank you for helping me figure out the short blink vs a one blink. Now it makes sense!

thanks for all your help too!

If your light has the lower low of 0.02 lumens, waving the light shows PWM like dots at floor 1/150 (no visible PWM on higher steps)

otherwise, I believe your light has the more typical older floor of 0.2 lumens, which shows no dots when waving the light.
.

I was hoping the sc21 pro had the ultra-low firefly level like my sp10 pro, but it doesn’t.

Thanks for sharing info… youre just a reflash away from lower lows… still great to hear you got Anduril 2…

Hey fellow Illinoisan, I have flashing kits available for the SC21 Pro if you’re interested

I’d be interested in one. Do you have them listed for sale someplace, or should I PM you?

I don’t have a store or anything, just shoot me a PM

I just successfully used your instruction to update my first light. Thank you!

One question for the more experienced: If I understand the erase step

correctly, the erase command is using the optional -m switch to erase only the section named “flash”. Could I drop the -m flash part of the command to erase the settings too? I needed to erase the Anduril settings after the upgrade from Anduril 1 to 2 and I think I did the manual setting erase dance correctly, but if they could be cleared with the command line it would make it easier on me. Would the command

get that done, or would it horribly break the light by unintentionally erasing something else too?

[fwiw, The SC21 Pro is available w 2700K now:
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803962522018.html]

correction, they cancelled my order, said 2700 not in stock

I just received a 5000K I ordered in January, it did come w Anduril 2

modded to 3000K 219b, this is what it looks like at night, ambient is also 3000K

My SC21 started to act up tonight on my walk. Turns on and off fine, double click to top of ramp, 3 clicks to do battery check. But I can’t ramp up or ramp down. I’ve used the light nightly since I got it from jonslider. Hmm, upon further inspection, it seems like when I try to ramp up, it goes up one step perhaps, as there is a perceptible change in intensity. Hard to imagine that the top of the ramp value got changed, as the light is used only by my, and I didn’t do it. Same thing happens if I turn on in moonlight mode, I can ramp up 1 level and that’s it. This is lower than the one level from my default turn on level (10). Hard to tell if the light changes on the highest level when I try to go up or down, too darn bright for that.

I’ve tried disconnecting the battery for a bit, the light resets to level 10 at turn on but functions the same.

help . . . .

Wow, this gets even weirder. While on, if I do 3C, the light changes to stepped mode. In this mode, the light does step up and down, but seems a bit uncontrolled at times. In stepped mode, if I just hold down the switch, it steps up, then steps down, then goes to moonlight mode and is in lockout mode. 4 clicks bring me back to stepped mode. I’m sensing a reset is inevitable . . .

Im leaning that way too

will be glad to walk you through how to change back to the settings I had shipped with. but, before that

did you oil the threads recently?
when mode switching becomes abnormal in a light, one thing I try, is to remove excess lubricant:

I use a paper towel, dry, and I wipe out the inside of the head to get any excess lube off the pill and threads… Also wipe the end of the the body tube and threads, at the head end.

Then test the light again… if you are lucky, the mode switching will return to normal…

let me know how I can help

1 Thank

Thanks for the prompt response jonslider. I didn’t lube the threads recently. But, just for grins, I did now clean the end of the tube a bit to see if perhaps oxidation on the negative battery contact is causing the behavior. No luck.

I was thinking you had sent me a PM with the settings when I bought the light, but I don’t see it in my inbox. If you could send that to me again I can see how setting up the light again goes. For the moment I have it in stepped mode which is behaving at the moment. I’ll hold off with the reset a bit in case others have insights, although I’m guessing that is unlikely.

Thanks!

Here you go…
these settings are my personal preferences you can replicate:

Sustainable Output Settings for Wurkkos TS10 and SC21 Pro

Aux on Low when off for TS10,
Button light on Low on SC21 Pro when off and also when On.
turn on in Advanced smooth ramping
ramping speed option 3 (slower)
10 lumen manual memory
10 minute temporary memory (this is set by default)
simple smooth and stepped floors at 1/150 = 0.02 lumens
simple smooth and stepped ceilings at 110/150=250 lumens
advanced smooth and stepped floor at 1/150 = 0.02 lumens
advanced smooth and stepped ceiling at 120/150 = 350 lumens
2C gives ceiling,
Turbo is Off
thermal limit set to 50C (sustains about 300 lumens)

another option, if you are interested in reflashing your light, I can send you the hex file I use, let me know… if you want to learn to reflash

thanks!

how many ramp steps  ?

wle

right now its set for 7 ramp steps IIRC.
