I am would like to hear how these two lights compare, they are very different in form but lumens and price are very similar.
Thanks guys!

I love my 90 cri C8F
Well, the major differences are the the SP33 is a single emitter that uses a XHP50.2 LED. And is powered by a 26650 sized battery.
The C8F is a triple emitter that uses 3 XPL LEDs or 3 Samsung LH351Ds. And is powered by a 21700 sized battery.
The shape of the light is different too. The C8F will have a slimmer body.
The SP33 will have a tighter hotspot and throw a bit farther (I think).
The Cf8 will have a floodier beam and give a more even light over a broader area.
The SP33 will have a cooler color temp. The Samsung LEDs will have a much warmer look with a higher CRI. Giving a more realistic look to colors especially outdoors.
All the Best,
Jeff
Both Sofirn SP33v3 and Sofirn C8F-21700 may have similar rated lumens but beam pattern is slightly different, due to LED type used and number of LEDs.
SP33v3 uses 26650 battery, side-switch operation (groups + ramping mode), built-in charging ; a bit stout body (26650), cylindrical body
C8F-21700 uses 21700 battery, tail + side-switch operation (also has groups + ramping mode) ; slimmer body (21700) but slightly bigger head
Beamshots taken at the same camera settings (1/10th shutter speed, daylight white balance, aperture f/2.8, ISO 800) and similar distance of flashlight from opposite wall (~18m / 60 ft)
Sofirn C8F-21700 (3x XPL-HD)
Sofirn C8F-21700 (3x LH351D 5000k)
Sofirn C8F-21700 (3x LH351D 2700k)
Sofirn SP33v3.0 (XHP50.2 cool-white)
Sofirn SP33v3.0 (XHP50.2 ‘5000k’)
in terms of beam,
LH351D has higher CRI (color rendering index - meaning colors should look ‘truer’ to daylight — note my above beamshots don’t have much colored objects in them, so it’s not so visible from the above, but there should be some effect of high-CRI lighting)
XHP50.2 beam tends to produce a warmer (yellowish/greenish) “corona” just surrounding the bright center hotspot of the beam.
C8F (3x XPL-HD) produces a bit more focused/throwy beam than the C8F (3x LH351D), which produces a slightly more focused beam than the SP33v3.
Thanks, d-t-a! Really great breakdown very helpful for me as I am interested in both, may be going lhd351 2700k!
They also have different efficiency and temperature behavior. My amateur test. The output lumens are taken from the instructions, I have no equipment to check them. The tests were carried out under the same conditions with fully charged batteries:
Sofirt C8F 3*XP-L(990Lm) – 58°C 20 minutes later. And (650Lm) 50°C 20 minutes later.
Sofirt SP33v2 1*XHP50.2(1000Lm) – 41°C 20 minutes later and 47°C 60 minutes later. (no stepdown)
