Solarforce exchange thread. Trade your unwanted SF parts for parts you want.

So, I just ordered an L2M host thinking that it would tailstand but now I’m pretty sure that it won’t. Is that correct? It has the 3A forward clicky switch.

What do I need to get this to tailstand?

I’m going to add a p60 drop-in and try to get a custom 5 mode. Would a forward or reverse clicky be best for that?

Depending on your answers I might be able to trade.

Thanks.

Generally a reverse clicky is best for multi-mode lights. As for what switch I'm not sure.

Everyone has different opinions as to which is better. Reverse-clicky fans will tell you it’s more logical to turn the light on then toggle through the modes until you get to the one you want then just let go of the switch. I favor the forward-clicky as that’s what I’ve always used. You toggle through the modes before latching the switch to On. The main difference is that, with a reverse-clicky, changing modes after you’ve used the light for longer than a few seconds does not require you to turn the light off while a forward-clicky requires that you unlatch the switch to change modes. Forward-clickies allow you to turn on the light momentarily without latching the switch, such as when you are checking something quickly, while reverse-clickies require you to latch the switch then turn it off.

I wish I read this post 3 weeks ago before I ordered my last SF lights and hosts.
I thought forward clicky is handled like a reverse clicky but got the ‘momentary on’ feature as a bonus <—- newb alert

That’s the reason for posting here again:

I WTT or WTB a Solarforce reverse clicky for the L2-series.

Problem is, I only got a forward clicky that I can trade for a reverse clicky.
So if anybody like to trade shoot me a PM or answer in this thread, same goes for people willing to sell me a reverse clicky.

WOW, those are some sweet looking bezels.

Let’s trade. I have switches and the necessary parts for you to swap out your forward clicky for my reverse-clicky. I’ll send you the switch, plastic spacer, contact ring, and your choice of either black or orange button cover. You install it, make sure it works, then you send me what’s left from your forward-clicky tail cap (usually the button cover, switch, and plastic spacer). This way you know what you have is working and that you’ve got the right parts in your light before sending the switch to me. I’ll even throw in a second switch since I have no desire to have any reverse-clicky switches at all (with the one exception being the reverse-clicky on the shotgun mounted L2, but, that’s another story).

ChicagoX:

I have two spare L2X switches, never used....long story!

JO @ Solarforce still has some L2X bodies for sale, but no heads or switches.

If you're interested in an L2X switch & mebbe perhaps? a new L2M in trade for your 'experienced' MPP-1 head, lemme know how much $ difference you'd want to trade.

…. here @ Solarforce E-Bay

Are you sure? I can not find the L2X body on the homepage.

Not on the website; use their email function to contact JO @ Solarforce.

I had emailed him last week, looking for parts, since I have 2 new spare L2X switches.

He replied that he had no L2X heads nor switches, but did have a couple L2X bodies left.

Tell him Gnarly told you.

Hi Gnarly,

PM sent.

I have a Surefire 8X with, wall charger (2) B90 NiCD batteries, not new but still holds a charge, (2) SF X80 Lamp Reflectors NIB plus the lamp in the 8X, flipcover frosted diffuser and a nylon holster with metal clip. All items are OEM from Surefire. The 8X works using the 2 batteries. I bought this light years ago new. Light has never been dropped, looks like new (no dings) except for the lens, it’s got fracture lines from my attempt to replace it. I do not have a replacement lense. I had a lens and the original box at one time but can’t find them.

I searched for upgrades to this 8X but none to be found and I’m not a modder, I’m a user. Looking to trade for a light that works with AA or 18650. USA only.

A BLF member snagged this light already

once I sent them an email to ask if it is really the b2 ss bezel but never got an answer. I’d guess it’s an accident that exact item description is missing.

Thank you, sir.

Got the MPP head today.

I tried again and sent them an inquiry two weeks ago now. Got no answer. Nevertheless i wouldn’d buy from them now. around 10 bucks for a random bezel is too much…

I have a couple of brand new stainless B2 bezels you can have. Anybody know where I can get a couple of L2-LR1 lanyard rings? The one that fits just behind the head?

ThanksforturningmeontosolarfoyceFoy!

WTB or Trade:
S9 tailcap. Seems to be not available anymore at solarforcesales.

Oops, I wrote that last post late last night after a few beers. I didn’t mean the L2-LR1, but the L2-PC1! I’ll trade one hard to get item (L2-B2 s.s.) for another hard to get item (L2-PC1). Unless your name is Foy. I owe that guy for my SolarForce obsession!

I have a forward clicky Tailcap S10 L2T, that I don`t need, and would like to trade it for a L2P/L2T head.

if someone would like to trade, please send me a PM

WTB: Full L2T host and Foybezel
WTS: Full L2P host (One small weird mark on bezel, no idea what it is)
